Hey Guys! I just want to make everyone aware that when you go to Autozone (maybe any other car parts stores) you also have to have the VIN number of the vehicle the EEC/ECU/ECM came out. They also require the OEM number so removing the old one is the only way to get this that i am aware of. Mine was the second number that started with an F. F3TF-12A650-TB. At Autozone the associate will have to enter this number by leaving the middle 6 digits out. for mine it was F3TF-TB. Hopefully that will save you guys the pain of at first thinking they cant ordering it.. and secondly it taking almost an hour for them to finally get the order placed. I hope this helps all of you out there :)

I’m having issues with my f350. She’ll crank fine. Runs fine. But you hit the gas she wants to die out almost like she’s getting too much air. I don’t think it’s fuel related either.

The egr has a crack in it but I was deleted and whoever had it before me put a plate behind it but it still leaks.

@@danc7412 try to see if you can use something like gasket paste to make a gasket for either or both sides.

Hello Wes, My 1990 F150 4.9 is giving me big problems to start in the morning. I changed the gas pump and did not help, so I have to pump it like 40-50 times and like 5 times I turn the key so it would bring has to the injectors and while I turn the key to start it I have to keep pumping the gas so it would finally start it. Once it starts, the rest of the day it will start with no problem. I saw your video and I will change my ECM. I think it may be the same because from the outside it looks the same, but I will find out. Thank you.

Hi my friend. From the description of your issue it sounds like you may have a slow leak in your fuel line. The leak is causing your fuel rail pressure to drop And loose prime. I recommend searching your fuel line to see if you can smell gas or notice any dry rotted places. If so replace the fuel Line were the leaks are and it should correct your problem. I would change the fuel filter if you havnt already to rule it out also. Thanks for the comment and good luck!

You can get a fuel pressure gauge to check it also but most likely that’s your issue not the computer of your truck

@@wesssidestory4157 I finally found and fixed the problem. I changed the TFI that is attached to the part that sends power to the spark plugs and that fixed the problem.

1995 f150... Mine didnt want to start sometimes and the engine acted like it was out of fuel going down the road also sometimes. I was dreading a fuel pump but it was no cost to check the computer so I did. It took me longer to gather the tools than it did to puul the computer but when I opened it everything looked ok.... My mom has one of those magnifying lamps with a light on it and thats when I saw the two burned capacitors.... $5 on ebay and fixed... Of course you need a soldering iron and wire but easy if you know how. Common problem on these old Fords.

Man mine is doing the same thing. Acts like it is running out of fuel when going down the road but only when it is warm outside Or when I have driven for over 90 minutes at a time, I just ordered a new one today I hope it fixes it because I have fired the parts cannon at mine with no luck and this is about the last thing it can be

You can use your phone camera to take a picture of the side toward the fender. The sticker is visible, barely, it's a little tricky but I did it on mine

Had the same problem , just one day wouldn't crank noticed my fuel pump would kick on when turning the key but wouldn't turn off . I just replaced the fuel pump a few months back so hopefully putting in this new ECM will fix this problem just ordered one today with the numbers needed from pulling the old one out . Was 110 bucks if anyone was wondering , 1995 Ford f150xl 4.9

Before the failure did the truck turn over? I have a 95 I hear the fuel pump lock on and stay on but will not crank just clicks and I tried jumping the starter solenoid and that worked once so I replaced it and now it won’t let me jump the starter solenoid it also just clicks

Mine would turn over . Find out if yours is locked up.. look up vids about turning it over with out crancking

I've been wrenching on that 10mm holding the plug on, but the plug is still stuck on. Is that a real long bolt or is there a clip somewhere?

Hey the plug for the wire harness can get stuck on but it shouldn’t be super hard to get off once you unloosen the bolt all the way. The bolts not too long just fine threaded so it takes a few extra turns. I pray this helps! Good luck and thanks for watching

After you disconnect the working harness you can use a flat head screw driver on the top bottoms and sides to start wiggling it free. It slides out and should not be held by anything other than grime that gets in that compartment

I think I have the same problem I have the same truck and I can't pass emissions because the computer is not ready they tell me I have to drive the truck and then go back and I still can't pass it because it's still not ready. Should I just put a new eCM in there?? 96 f150 4.9

What do you mean the computer is not ready? What kinda of codes are you getting? My ECM stopped giving codes all together.. plus it kept my fuel pump running constantly. There are several videos on how to tell if your computer is bad.. also several vids to help you look up codes that is making your check engine light turn on. I hope this helps..

You can try getting your truck running hot by removing some coolant and maybe you could pass emissions with that trick

@@wesssidestory4157 Last October truck just wouldn’t start but you could hear the fuel pump running when you tried . They put in an ECM I do not know if it was new or refurbished. Now the truck is driving like it is running out of gas, jerking and idling really rough. The original ECM was taken out by the mechanic and I do not have the code from the side of it. Our truck is a manual, a different mechanic hooked it up to a scanner which gave a code that said that the vehicle was not in park or neutral. My mechanic says there are not different ECM’s for manual or automatic transmission but that it does the conversion itself and the clutch should be pushed in during the test? I would like to just buy a used ECM off eBay, hoping maybe the truck will start running right and be proof that they just need to replace the ECM they installed, but I don’t know what to get.

Ha ha, answer finally, the only other tube , he when into the driver side after pulling the bolts and just said you just pull it out and replace. He didn't do it, but I looked at it inside there the defrostertube behind an the gas peddle below. That a tight squeeze to get cradle out from inside. LOL! So you can pull it from the engine side. LOL

The other guy short utube said to pull it out from inside the car, if git a 1994 Ford van . That so hard. .things around it. You show you can pull it out from the engine bay. So that has to be it. .

If it's just clicking I would test the battery most likely you don't have enough charge to turn it over

Just kinda wiggled it up.and down and sideways .. may have even used a screw driver to help do that.. it's been awhile but it will come out with a little elbow grease

my fuel pump works but doesn't prime . I can run it off the fuse box. new relay and sanded the grounds. new tank selector switch... PCM? 94 4.9 f150 5spd 180k

The thing that let me know my ecm needed replaced is that my fuel pump stayed on and would not go off when the prime was complete. Your issue could be pointing to an Ecm problem. Good luck my friend. I pray you get your issue resolved

Sounds like it stripped. If you didn't use any liquid wrench it can happen.. you may have to use a cutting wheel and cut it
