I bought a really ropey looking Renault 5 for far too much money... Then I fell in love with it, and in this video I'll tell you why you should buy one.

That's what I loved about my own Renault 5 Campus, it was so simple & easy to fix. And the parts were cheap as well.

My first car was a 1988 R5 TL with the 1108cc engine. My dad owned four R5s over the years of which two were Campus Prima versions like this, the last of which was the same shade of blue as yours but was an August 94 model. I'd love another some day to put alongside my 97 Mégane coupe. Just to note the 1.4 in earlier MK2s both NA and Turbo were 1397cc and on carbs. The Campus Prima was a 1390cc but finally had fuel injection.

Got my tickets! :P ..I've owned a 1.4 campus and a GT Turbo. Both were equally dreadful ..but my god were they charming/fun, fingers crossed!

I bought a brand new Renault 5 GT Turbo in ‘89 in Pearl white…it cost £9900 on the road. I kept it for a year and swapped it for a Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9 in Sorrento Green. I’ve had some good cars since but nothing compared to these 2…wish I still had them

Yup Yup. Loved the video apart from the juggling skills, which TBF are better than mine.

Ha ha I’d forgotten about the juggling

Fess up, you painted those wheels didn't you? 🤣 I never got to drive one but used to love hammering about in one on The Getaway on PS2
@GeoffBuysCars3 жыл бұрын
Yeah man! I even did a video on it. Brush painted with hammerite in half an hour 😂

I drive a Renault 9 1.4. How often do I see another? Never.Same engine bay minus the rust. Mine has none as rust is our business - we fix rust. I drive the rustiest car going that has no rust to prove I live what I talk.

Bloody good video Geoff! I didn't think the big lump with the Donald Trump hairdo was going to fit in the 5. But he did.

You have the one with the best colour offered back then with the paint code 443. I would have beige in place of gray.
