Oregon started the season badly but, by the end, they were absolutely one of the 5-10 best teams in the country with an outstanding defense. Remember, this Oregon team beat the Washington team that destroyed the Miami team that almost beat Nebraska. The Ducks also completely changed their offense for this game; normally a power-run team with one of the country's higher rushing attempt percentages, they switched to a pass-happy attack that took PSU time to figure out (with edge blitzes etc). Meanwhile, the PSU offense was a bit sloppy in this game, mostly in the first half. PSU beating this team, in that situation, 38-20 is really impressive.

This game was closer than the score. Oregon just kept turning it over. The QB had 4 ints and 6 t.o. overall!

LOL. The last Oregon td was a giveaway. Penn State won by 3 td's. That's a butt whippin'. It wasn't close at all. This game was over at the beginning of the 4th qtr.

The most deserving team not to win the national championship in my lifetime of watching CFB! The ncaa had a split champion in 90, 91, an 97 but unfortunately for Penn st Poor old simpathetic Tom Osborne didn't win his 1st championship any of those years! Lloyd Carr won his 1st in 97, but they shore let Nebraska have a split. Which I agree with because nobody was beating the 97 or 95 team. But the 94 team wouldve gotten their doors blown off by 94 pennst

A split national title in 1994 would have been fine. To not give PSU even a share, after giving CU and GT a split in 1990, was just ridiculous. Then 1997 was insult to injury. I do think 1994 PSU beats 1997 Nebraska but I'll pass on 1995.

Penn st also couldn't have picked a worse year as far as the pac10 goes! Oregon was 9-2 but nobody outside Oregon state took them serious. They lost to Hawaii that year.
