Thank you for your help! Woke up to my vehicle missing firing this morning. I’m going to replace all plugs, wires, and coils. Your video brakes it down to where I feel confident to do this myself. 👍🏻

Thanks for making this video, it helped me to save a lot of money. My local Toyota dealership wants to charge me $299 + tax just to replace the six spark plugs.

Thanks for this video. Very helpful to see your process for doing this job. And I appreciate the suggestion of doing the coil packs and corresponding plugs one pair at a time. You saved me a lot of trouble.

Okay, on the left side of the car, you only did the easy one. You left off cylinder 6, which is the tough one. DIY mechanics beware because 1, 3 & 5 are way easier than 2, 4 & 6.

Is it at all possible for loose or old spark plugs could be causing a fuel smell from the engine and/or p0442 check engine code?

Hi I have some concerns, the rubber tube thing you pulled out on the right side. Is there some sort of resistance. I’m scared to pull mine out and break it cuz it feels like somethings attached to the other end. It’s super loose thus why I’m attempting to replace and hopefully fix it. Just need a little guidance thanks!
@AR-xu2gg2 жыл бұрын
It’s held on by clamps. Loosen them a lot then try to twist and pull the boot off where it attaches. The big box it’s attached to is bolted to the car.

Brian, I do appreciate your effort, however I believe your advice to remove the connector from the ignition coil assembly is unnecessary and even a serious mistake, as with these older cars the plastic is aged and cannot stand the force of removal. Also the part about using a hooked took to pull up on the plastic part that fastens the female plug wire to the ignition coil assembly is not helpful as there is a slot to insert a small screwdriver to unsnap the catch. Also the plastic fastener can be rocked back and the sark plug wire comes right off. But many thanks, as at the beginning I didn't even know where the plugs were.

Hey bud, I just replaced coils and plugs on the same vehicle. I know for a fact I did the work properly but now the vehicle will not even crank. Not sure what’s wrong now. The vehicle cranked and turned over just fine prior to the replacement. Lost again. Please advise if you can! Thanks!

@@BrianBalatbat yessir I do. Everything is as it should be. I got some denso spark plugs yesterday so I’ll try again using those. The ones I installed are some crap no name brand that the dude at autozone grabbed. It was his second day in the job... I would think that the starter would still go even without a spark but it’s not even working now.

thanks for sharing the tips. how do you tell if your wires are bad or when to replacing them? thx
@BrianBalatbat3 жыл бұрын
It’s best to replace the wires when you’re replacing the spark plugs, but a few ways to tell if they’re bad is to simply visually inspect it, bad wires can also cause misfires and poor idle. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!

I found a diagram on a forum. Cylinder 5 is passenger rear and 6 is driver rear, so it's 531 back to front on the left and 642 back to front on the right. Wires go 5 to 2 3 to 6 1 to 4

How often should you replace the ignition coils?
@BrianBalatbat2 жыл бұрын
You really only need to replace them when they go bad. When they do you’ll get one of the following misfire codes, p0301 cylinder 1 misfire p0302 cylinder 2…and so on.
