1996 Argentine Grand Prix Michael Schumacher qualifying lap

The 1996 Argentine Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held on 7 April 1996 at Autódromo Oscar Alfredo Gálvez, Buenos Aires. Despite suffering a bout of food poisoning, Damon Hill made it three wins out of three, with Jacques Villeneuve helping Williams complete their second one-two of the season. Jos Verstappen scored his only point of the season, Andrea Montermini his only finish of the season. This was the first race of 1996 where no drivers failed to meet the 107% time.

The argentinian circuit was practically a giant gokart track for f1 cars. Michael's driving skills truly shone in this crappy 96 ferrari. Many of those moments the Hamilton goat claimers have never seen.

Season's equal second fastest car, twitchy and unreliable but let's not go pretending Schumacher worked miracles in a Minardi. Mercedes were ranked lower when Hamilton replaced him.

@@azapro911 Even Irvine said he was amazed by how Michael drove the 96 Ferrari. Great example spain and the rain. His car was 1 second off pole in the dry and 3-4 seconds faster in the rain per lap. Hamilon has also never left an actual WC team on purpose to join a weak one to make them great again.

Michael retired from the race when a collision between Tarso Marques and Martin Brundle left debris on the track, and the debris sheared loose the top part of his rear wing.

One of the greatest qualifying performances of all time. That was a dog of a car. It had no right to be anywhere near front row. He was 1.5 seconds faster than his teammate!
