Fun fact. This limo was possibly the fastest one ever built, with a rumored top speed of 228 km/h. It was also the first presidential limo that was purpose-built for the job from the ground up.

I'm sure many of you are also aware that FDR used a Cadillac that was confiscated from Al Capone's seized assets when they got him on tax evasion. (If I'm not mistaken) . Capone had an armored car before the Secret Service acquired one for The President. Even by mid-1930's standard, the car was a beast.

Presidential Limousines are not to be sold due to security concerns. How were they able to get a hold of one? The secret service usually uses the ones taken out of commission for training and they run them into the ground.

Although I'm not keen on it, this was for sure one for delivery for the Secret Service. Know a guy in the Technical Services Division (the USSS branch that handles limos) and he told me that he could remember it well. President Clinton got a 1993 Fleetwood model, which he used until the end of his term in 2001. However, it's always tradition that when a new term (half-way) goes over, the limo is changed. This car was bulit in 1996 to be the official one to the 1997 Inauguration onwards (Clinton's second term) ; but the Secret Service declined to use it since it wasn't much of a change. It stood in the garage for a few years before being sold. That's the only case I ever recall to a official presidential limousine delivered to the Secret Service to get in public hands. Those things were bulit by a R&D GM division, where this thing has the chassis of if I'm not mistaken a 3500 Silverado. Although I can't say until what caliber that armor stops, it's more armored than anything offered in the armored car market, even in 2020. The only cars more "advanced" to it would be the other official limos that were given to the USSS. Hope this helps!

Seem very strange they would have Jack Roush prepare a 454 for that car, Lingenfelter and Callaway were still alive then and Roush does Fords, also why use a 454 when GM Performance sold the 502 then, in fact Jon Moss put the 502 crate engine in a 94-96 Impala SS. I would also guess that they would have to be very careful to prevent engine damage if they increased the power and cylinder pressure too high, they would likely have to use not only a 4L85e or TH475 if not an Allison from a medium duty truck they would have to use a higher stall converter that can still lock up and deep gears to prevent detonation by romping on it after heat soaking it in a parade in extreme heat with 12,000+lbs. I have my doubts the engine is anything more than the L19 version of the Vortec 7400 L29 which came factory with forged internals, probably without emissions controls like cats that would heat up, cog up, impede flow and restrict power. It's probably just the forged 7400 without restrictions and a special flash tune making like 350-425hp so it can run on pump gas and not generate so much cylinder pressure that it will beat the bearings out knocking running to redline heat soaked hauling 12K+ lbs. I would believe Jon Moss or Lingenfelter touched it before I believed Jack Roush did. That's like saying you have a 454 tuned by John Colletti from SVT or Steve Saleen. I still want to get a wrecked Kodiak/Top Kick/C6500 and fabricate a Beast Cadillac replica on top of it with Escalade and DeVille parts powered by a PSI 8.8L hooked to a built Allison or 6L90e 6spd auto to a Dana 80 or Spicer S110 rear. I cant believe there arent any unofficial Beast limo replicas out there.

I doubt it, GM produced the 502 crate engine at that time and it didn't produce 625hp, for an engine to run on pump fuel, heat soaked from driving in a parade at low speeds or idling long periods for the president to exit a venue in extreme heat then be able to hammer the gas at a moment's notice hauling 12,000+ lbs with tall geared a 3 or 4 speed auto it couldn't have that high of cylinder pressure as a 625hp 454 would have and not beat it's bearings out from detonation, there would be no point in giving the car so much power anyway because it would just spin the tires like crazy or get going so quick by a panicking Agent in an emergency that it would be a danger with bald/popped tires, huge weight/poor handling and overheating/engine damage. I would guess a factory forged internal 454 with emissions deleted and a special tune could safely make 325-425hp on pump gas which is probably all it could use quickly, intelligently, reliably, safely and still could likely top 100mph depending on gearing and tire size.

That's a lie, no 454 is going to make that much power n/a on pump gas reliably hauling that kind of weight with a TH475 or 4L85e transmission and not detonate it's guts out in an emergency under hard acceleration while extremely heat soaked hauling 12,000+ lbs. I highly doubt it has more than 400hp...425 tops probably more like 350hp, GM sold the 502 crate engine at that time and Jon Moss put one in an Impala SS concept car.

It wouldn't be able to hook up or even handle well enough to use that much power it would more of a danger for that car to be able to go more than 100mph and pointless. It would spin the tires till they popped and wouldnt be able to slow down or turn at more than 100mph or so, it also has support vehicles that would protect it that would be sacrificed at any cost so the president could get to safety.

ROSH 454 & 12,000 pounds, which is to say you have what maybe around 6 TONS, so it would need at least near 1,000 horse power to make the car move at speed if it needed to get going in a hurry, totally fake as far as it a original Presidential CAR, maybe a copy of 1, which these days its not had to produce, especially when you have computers & scanners that will copy almost anything you want, also if original then a Museum would buy it as part of the presidential collection of cars ? also the biggest give away NO Presidential SEAL anywhere on the inside of the car or the outside of the car ?
