It's hard to believe that the LH cars are 30 years old as of this posting. They were such a huge leap for Chrysler at the time (and some of the last true Chryslers, not being Mercedes or Fiat chassis) and look better than most cars on the road today. I miss decent looking cars.

Yeah I think the K car is really the last true Chrysler. The LH were from AMC and Renault just like the Jeep Grand Cherokee. It shared basically no design language with any of Chrysler’s cars which is why they were so radical at the time compared to… say… the Plymouth Acclaim or the Chrysler Fifth Avenue.

I was in one of these back in the day, and noticed that the ride was very smooth, and the interior and instrumentation well thought out... The Vision was a bit bigger obviously, but handled and drove as good or better than a Maxima SE Automatic for over $1500 less cash. Haven't seen one of these in years - I owned a 94 Vision briefly (stolen) and a 94 Dodge Intrepid, both base models with the 3.3L V6, fairly reliable overall but the transmissions were dicey and some interior materials were cheap and brittle. I remember the front suspension on the Intrepid was fairly clunky and seemed to need refreshing even at lower mileage. Great looking cars though, I traded the Intrepid in for a new Olds Aurora in 96 then a new LHS in 99 which I loved. Last Chrysler was a 2005 300C which I still own today as a 2nd car but I currently daily drive a 2018 Infiniti Q70.

Vision isn't any more or less reliable than it's sister cars. These cars were actually just as reliable as any other V6 powered large front wheel drive cars back in the day. The reason why you don't see many now is because they are challenging to work on thanks to the unusual engine layout and they have poor resale value which means the slightest little parking lot ding will total the car and send it to the scrap yard in perfectly good safe running condition.

Looking back I would say the only problem with this vehicle is the quality and reliability of vehicles Chrysler produced just prior to these which haunted consumers. This seems like a highly under appreciated vehicle which had that been realized earlier could have saved the Eagle brand.

AutoStick doesn't do anything more than manually selecting the gears with a PRND21 shifter can. It just makes it easier I guess lol I'd say a non beneficial gimmick and a sales tactic at best. But ever since then we have seen a rise in slap shifters. They're useless. If people want to shift they should man up and buy a manual. And these same people then complain about the automatics they shift manually being unreliable lol

@@FuckTrumpFuckYouIfYouVoted4Him Autostick in my 99 300M changes the RPM and shift quality. It shifts a little higher, almost just before the rev limiter and shifts slightly harder, not tire chirping, but it does change some. I don't know if it's the same for the Eagle or not.

@@JrGoonior Noooo lol it doesn't change the actual performance results wide open throttle. It's a gimmick. The firmer shifts aren't a good thing, either. It's your transmission wearing out. The 42LE is a self adjusting smooth operator, not a firm operator. Expect a transmission replacement soon lol.

This was the first mainstream, affordable vehicle to offer a “manumatic” (which Chrysler called Autostick) transmission. I remember reading somewhere that Porsche and I believe Acura offered a manumatic transmission but of course those were much more expensive, rarer vehicles at the time which is why this vehicle truly was the first mainstream vehicle to offer it. I also vaguely remember reading an article that advertised how you could downshift at lower speeds in order to slow the car down instead of using the brakes (thereby extending the life of your brakes) but then later I heard that one should NOT downshift to slow down because it was so hard on the transmission and engine and they were already unreliable and prone to failure!

As an owner (STILL) of a 4th gen Prelude. I have always thought these Visions in particular LOOKED like a bigger sedan model of the 4G Prelude lol. Definitely not in quality.
