When Hartman raced at WVMS, everybody else was racing for second. He ruled that place for years.

I have had the pleasure as a fan to meet Bloomquist and Smith...... both class acts and awesome!!! I got autographs at Brownstown speedway both were awesome as well as Boggs! They all seemed to care about the fans!! Moyer....... a line at his stand where he never showed up!! To this day I have zero respect for Moyer!

Ronnie Johnson gets his spot back after spinning out on the start? I remember now these guys used to stop on the track to get a caution to change a tire.

that was 1996, this is 2017-18 since all late model engines are push rod V-8s and are big small blocks,ts, Ford,and Mopar and GM... wonder what would happen if teams ran a Toyota push rod V-8 ....?

We may see that one day but doubtful until dirt track goes fuel injection! Great insight though but still years away I’m afraid

After watching several of these old HaT TV races, I can say without a doubt their broadcast team is the worst, most ignorant of the sport ever. Egads.

A great track a great saction great field of drivers a great time in wv the only time better was the pennsboro wvms weekend and 99 sweep it a great time period then today all of dirt motorsports is out of touch

After watching the start I immediately remembered why this track failed....its a train...no close racing. I believe it wasnt too long after this that M Smith and his dad went to prison.
@msmith50694 жыл бұрын
Have you ever been there?? If not shut it ,this video shows nothing..it was never a train race
@Papa-Kev4 жыл бұрын
@@msmith5069 Yes. I live about 15 miles from it. It definitely was a train. Very boring.
@George-xz9wu3 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with Kevin. I went to WVMS prob 8-9 times in the 90’s for big events (Pennsboro weekend, HaT, STARS, and a dreadful ARCA race). The racing surface and facility was beautiful (I loved the tiered grass backstretch seating) but the racing was spread out and usually had a bunch of cautions and attrition.
@monicabuffington Жыл бұрын
Geez… it was actually several years later as in 13 yrs later and what does that have to do with anything Kevin??? Not a thing to do with racing so what’s the point bringing that up? You’re a sad individual to even make a comment like that … I feel sorry for you

My grandfather was a CES employee, and brother in law to Bub Smith. M,E.B&B went to jail in 06. My grandfather was put in charge of the company by the feds during that time, and ran the succeeding company (MSE) for 12 years. He's retired now, E.B and Michael are the only two left. Larry died a few years back and bub passed about two months ago.

over 300 wins for bloomer between 89’ and 96’, 8 years averages out to 35 wins per year. thats a staggering number and i wonder how many he ran in those 8 years. 70 per means won every other race. The caliper of competition was staggering, Boggs brothers, Moyer, fast freddie, wallace, stars guys, Pierce, ronnie johnson moran and on and on and on. geez
