Whoa Nelley, 1996 and hit the bricks. Those wheels are fugaly-ugitay. What happened is aftermarket wheels are crap and are not made to properly fit most of the applications that they say they are for. We got the VIN, we win: 1G1 for US made Chevrolet, BL52 for Caprice Classic (with manual seat belts and dual airbags), P for 5.7L V8 with MFI, aka RPO code "LT1", 5 is a check digit, T for the 1996 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. The Arlington plant still operates today and produces SUVs. We got the SPID, glad you did: AA7 for quick opening power windows, AK5 for dual front airbags, ARL for Arlington, TX assembly, AS7 for 55-45 front split seat, A75 and A76 for heavy duty front and rear seat cushions, BF9 for floor covering mat, C49 for rear window defogger, C60 for air conditioning, DE3 for painted electric outside LH and RH mirrors, DL5 for roadside information decal, ECW for Meridian vinyl interior trim, FE9 for Federal emissions, FLT for fleet vehicle, GU4 for 3.08 rear axle ratio, G80 for limited slip rear differential, JA9 for heavy weight disc/drum brakes, JL9 for front and rear power disc brakes with antilock braking, KD1 for transmission oil cooling system, KG9 for 140 amp alternator, LT1 for 5.7L V8 engine with MFI, MX0 for automatic transmission merchandising option, M30 for 4L60E four speed electronic automatic overdrive transmission, NF2 for Tier 1 Federal emissions, NG5 for 50 state emission certification, N10 for dual exhaust system, N30 for deluxe steering wheel, N40 for non-variable hydraulic power steering, N81 for full size radial spare tire (or it's NB1 for 50 state emission system certification), N92 for bolt on wheel covers, N97 for 15x7 heavy duty wheels, QRB for P225/70R15 black wall tires, UM7 for AM-FM electronically tuned receiver stereo radio with clock, UQ0 for four speaker system, UQ1 for stereo radio provisions, U11 for police certified instrument cluster, U73 for fixed antenna, VM3 for bumper certification label information, V03 for extra capacity cooling system, V73 for US/Canada vehicle statement, WU1 for switch instrumentation shutoff, 1AA for retail sales incentive amenities delete, 1K5 for transmission low gear blockout, 1SX for possible option package 22, 1T1 for silicone cooling system hoses, 1Z2 for anti-corrosion hot melt, 16Q for Bright White exterior moldings, 16U for Bright White exterior paint, 30D for Adriatic Blue interior trim, 9C1 for police car, among other codes. So yes, it was a white exterior/blue interior true 9C1 police car at one time. Blue car #2. Jerrel Bolton Chevrolet was located at Farm Rd 2114, West, TX 76691. In 1985, Mr. Bolton's wife Melodie, who was 35 at the time, was shot dead in her house by intruders who were later caught. She was a secretary-treasurer for the dealership prior to her death. Her and Mr. Bolton were married in 1973 and had two children at the time. We got the VIN, we win: 1G1 for US made Chevrolet, BL53 for Caprice Classic four door sedan, E for 5.0L (305 CID) V8 with TBI, aka RPO code "L03", 9 is a check digit, P for the 1993 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. Exterior paint is code 22 Light Sapphire Blue. Car #3 is a 1992 Caprice with the VIN for the win: 1G1 for US made Chevrolet, BN53 for Caprice Classic, E for 5.0L (305 CID) V8 with TBI, 5 is a check digit, N for the 1992 model year, R for Arlington, TX assembly and the rest is the production sequence. I'll do the SPID for that one in a separate post. Whoa Nelley, 3 for and 1 and all done. That's it, time to quit. Too bad, so sad. G80 and gotta go. B bodies all looking a bit shoddy. 9C1 and it no longer runs. Going to be flat and that's that. LT1 used to be fun. Bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do when they come for you? VIN code "E" and it's over for thee. Please don't get squished because just about everyone including the Google Man are all going to be pissed.

What about those aftermarket wheels that are made by BBS or Enkei? They also make wheels for the oem's.

@@ClassicRideSociety My Toyota Corolla has OEM Enkei wheels. However they are specifically made for that car and only that car. The aftermarket wheels I would have no part of.

Wow it's a real 9C1 with the green hoses. those are supposed to last forever You never have to change them. And since it's a 9c1 it's got the engine oil cooler the power steering oil cooler and a couple other parts that are definitely worth taking besides the 8.5 in rear end with the posi and the disc brakes

I remember when those Caprices' ruled every street in N.Y.C as taxicabs. Good times. Shocked to say that Toyota Camry is now the typical fleet car in the livery industry besides Tahoe

Hey ! Benny I was never a big fan of those except for the SS and loaded up Caprice classic in that version I am guessing that it was ordered pacifically from the GM plant for the customer even though it was a good looking bubble brougham and nice luxury 👍

The wheel design on that Caprice/Impala is very similar (almost identical) to the PRIME branded rims that my dad had installed on his '90 Sierra at the dealer the day he bought it.

G80 is Posi…it’s an LT1 car with a 3.08 rear gear. Grab the SEO hoses and clamps…also snag the rear end complete. The sway bars and 5/8 9C1 spindles are also worth grabbing as is the PCM.

I would have gladly fixed up that fake SS and drove her all the time, I'm a box Caprice fan and prefer them but I would love a black SS I'll even take a black clone. I do see tons of 08-2012 malibu's in every video as well as tons of CTS's though most seem extremely used and abused as probably to why they are there. My dad had a 96 Imp SS 02 SS camaro and 95 Fleetwood on switches when he died they were all black and he for some reason thought a plain Jane 91 bathtub was better than a 90 box brougham but he liked the fat bodied GM cars although he called the bucks toadmasters and said they were only good for chevy parts
