1996 MLS Soccer Year in Review

This is a 30 minute program featuring the 1996 MLS soccer league. It aired on ESPN after the league's first season was complete. ESPN owns the rights to this broadcast and I hope they don't mind me uploading it for all the soccer fans in the world. The league has come a long way thanks to the support it has received over the 23 years of it's existence.

I remember some of those commercials. AOL... how quaint. AT&T... how did anyone ever think that was a good deal! As for MLS.. half empty stadiums, shootouts after a draw, countdown clock, etc. It's come a long way.

29 years later MLS going strong and kicking from the first kick of the Regular Season to the first Post Season Championship game that played in the 🌧️ with DC United being crowned the first ever MLS Cup Champion. MLS went with 10 team and with 29 teams currently today with next year going to 30 next season. Maybe we might see a 32 team league someday in 2027 or 2028.

i mean...it would be odd if they called it Major League Football. so you gonna run into it being shortened to MLF. like MILF. that would kill the league on the spot another thing to consider....NFL.
