Karelin a mi entender no solo es el mejor luchador de cualquier estilo de todos los tiempos, así lo demuestra su abrumadora superioridad,también debe estar incluído entre los cinco mejores deportistas de todos los tiempos sin atreverme a dar un orden ello sin tener en cuenta que su carrera deportiva fue relativamente corta,pues si le hubiera dado por competir hasta los cuarenta años seguramente hubiera obtenido cinco títulos olímpicos y otros tantos mundiales.
