Rivalry only lasted a few years, but it was the best in sports history. Crazy thing is it wasn't just the fights, both teams brought out the best in each other. They always delivered edge of your seat games, and I'm a Hawks fan. We need another rivalry like this to bring hockey back where it belongs. Problem is I think Bettman has softened and wouldn't let it happen.

I agree... I honestly thought it was going to get dirty, but it didn't. The Avs did what they could, with what they had...and played a clean series. If Sakic and Forsberg decide to retire, they'll have some rebuilding to do, but they'll be back.

@adusman14 жыл бұрын
As a Wings fan, I cannot say that we would have won 2 more Cups had Konstantinov never been hurt. It was his injury that forced Lidstrom to become the best defenseman of this generation. Before that tragic incident, he was merely very good. Bowman himself has stated this injury is what made St. Nick make the jump to truly great.

I can't lie and say I don't cheer with every goal, but the agony of a 2-2 game is what makes a series. Remeber man, all it takes is ONE goal and ONE win to swing the momentum the other way, and change the series outcome. There are times when I want to change the channel, but the last time I did that, Detroit came back, and I missed it. I have never seen momentum swings as big as they are these days...I think because the goon antics are out, and playing the puck is in.

I really was hoping for the bouts of the past, but it's just not there anymore. Two different teams than 6-12 years ago. I completely respect Sakic, and I hope he continues to play. He's pure class, and an HOFer all he way. If he does decide to retire, #19 will no longer be worn for the Avs. Colorado will proudly hang that #19 in the Pepsi Center. Two great #19's, and two great captains can polish their rings, and Conn Smythes, while reflecting on two great careers, and one great rivalry.
@deltaecho116 жыл бұрын

@uptownboyz100 Well I am sorry to hear about the knee. I had something happen during a game. I was in front of our next covering their forward, and then their center came through the slot, steped on a stck, and tripped into the side of my right knee. Snapped the MCL off the bone. Healed back fast because the sliverof bone broke, not the tendon. Does your knee still bother you?

Ah... I see what you're saying. I can agree to an extent. Though, Detroit has gotten much better than they were last year (you'll remember alot of dump-and-chase and no forchecking), they still need more grit. However...Col have to watch for Drake, Downey, McCarty, Draper, and especially Kronwall (who has a little Vlady spirit in him). I do hope they both play rough like the old days...but keep it a clean series. It's going to be awesome for the fans of both teams...as it always has.
