The attendance of 37,981 was and still is the 2nd largest regular season attendance between the Roosters and Manly. The largest was 50,130 at the Sydney Cricket Ground in May 1974 (Roosters won that 15-5). The record attendance between the two clubs was set at the 2013 Grand Final at the Olympic Stadium with 81,491.

Over 30 000 people at a Monday night game? In Sydney??? That’s nuts.

Manly Sea Eagles fan here in USA. I once wore my Manly jersey in Las Vegas and one guy saw me and screamed “Go Bunnies!” Lucky I didn’t see him. Ha. 🇺🇸🇦🇺🦅🏉

It’s a testament to how cheap overseas travel has become that you see a Souffs supporter in Las Vegas

Hey mate, do you have Manly vs Sydney tigers from round 19 in this same season? 1996. Pretty sure Solomon Haumono decked Danny Stains in this game. Cheers mate

From this Manly side only Jack Elsegood would miss the Grand Final winning XVII that year. He was on the extended GF bench, but didn't play. John Hopoate came in on the wing and Craig Hancock on the bench. Elsegood would join the Roosters in 1997.
