1996 SEADOO GTX WON'T REV UP PAST 4K RPMS RECTIFIER VOLTAGE REGUALTOR

Troubleshooting this ole seadoo after it has sat 10 years it looks like crap, It did clean up real good though after rebuilding carbs, draining the fuel and welding up the casting port on the exhaust pipe. I think we found the reason they owner shelved it after all, they couldn't remember what was wrong with it. We found it though.

The same thing happened to me, I thought it was the muffler tube that was broken and I bought a welded one but it kept doing the same thing like it accelerates but it has no power and it accelerates in pauses I think that's what you say in the video we'll go over it myself I was close to it to take it to the workshop and lose a lot of money thank you my friend

I have a twin engine speedster. 717cc rotax engine. The right engine would fully rev, then drop down for a few seconds then rev. Basically surging. I cleaned the plugs, took apart the carbs and cleaned them, blew out the fuel lines, and cleaned out the sending unit. Took it out twice and it was fine. Just took it out today and its doing it again. Any ideas and help would be greatly appreciated.

Hopefully its not the rev limiter, try the voltage regulator replacement first.

Do the yellow connectors need to be in any particular order? Looks like you just plugged them in quickly but just wondering before I try this myself

If you disconnect red and the problem goes away, its the regulator.. but dont leave it that way, or the battery wont charge.

I have a 2002 version of this ski but can’t get it to start it’s seconds from Turing on but won’t quiet make it I’ve changed fuses and spark plugs got a new battery but at a dead any , any suggestions one where to start next ?

@@5StarPWC no it’s a di model I fixed the issue I had a clogged fuel filter and fuel lines no fuel was getting to the engine

Hey Guys! Thanks for these videos. Having trouble with my GTX 951, runs great when its out on the water it goes in and out of powder band. Would you have any suggestions? Was going to rebuild the carbs and check their reeds

Sounds like you might need a head gasket. Just did one that had the same issue . Check to see if there is water on spark plug after you run it with water

No water on the plug, It stays out of power band for the most part

Ski runs fine in water until I hit the gas stalls and dies on me 97 gti Any help? Could it be the voltage regulator?

Try pulling the choake first then quck hit the gas. Have the same problem on my jetski
