Awesome video man. One question…do you need to get the car an alignment after doing this job?

Just got a camry and the passenger cv axel was replaced by previous owner but must’ve not done something right. The axel is still shiny and new looking but when you try and put it in gear it makes a grinding noise and won’t pull. But if you play with the steering wheel going side to side and keep putting in gear sometimes it’ll go for a couple feet and then stop and make the grinding noise again. Any help is appreciated

I would get under there and make sure axle is all the way engaged into trans and then spin the passenger side axle before the intermediate shaft and make sure it's locked in

@@HooptiesGaragethank you for the response. I got the clip off and 14 mm bolt and got it locked back in. Got the clip back on and then the bolt and started getting it into the hub and then it popped out again. Couldn’t have moved that far because it looks like it’s still in the transmission like it was before.

Any suggestions on how to get the 30mm wheel nut off? Mine won’t come off with a breaker bar or impact wrench.

Rust release or brake fluid if you can get it in there and well. Healthy amount of fire. Remember those rust release or brake fluid will ignite.

I ended using a jack to push the breaker bar up forcefully 😂 worked like a charm

What aftermarket cv axles do you like for these Camrys?

My axle won’t go back in… could I not have the seal pressed far enough in?
@HooptiesGarage Жыл бұрын
I kind of doubt it, it must not be aligned properly or the c clip has gotten messed up

@@HooptiesGarage I’ve got both the axle and the mount brand new, as well as the seal. From what I can see the carrier bearing still has like… 1/8th inch to go? In neutral splines engage and turn the cv, just can’t get that last 8th.

Any tips to break that inner bearing loose?
@HooptiesGarage2 жыл бұрын
Make sure the clip is out other than that they can be a real bear to break loose especially on these older Toyotas for some reason
@EMcKelvyF2 жыл бұрын
Your telling me lol, I took an air chisel to it and still couldn't break it loose. A local shop suggested taking the whole engine mount out and pressing the axel out with a 2 ton press or replace the mount with it. What a pain for what is an easy fix on any other vehicle lmao
@HooptiesGarage2 жыл бұрын
@@EMcKelvyF yes I did that before I ended up taking whole thing out and putting it in a press and it stressed my little press bad. Those are ignorant sometimes

@@EMcKelvyFI’m new to mechanic world figured I’d give it a shot. It’s kicking my behind rn. Tomorrow i will try to break top nut loose on engine mount. Any tips on how to break that bold up there. Very little space. ( passenger side cv axle

There’s a video where they take the full bracket off the inner bearing is inserted in. But that bracket is also attached to the engine mount ! Big pain for me rn

How tight that 14 mm needs to be
@HooptiesGarage4 жыл бұрын
Which one are you talking about the caliper bolts? Those need to be fairly tight with a regular 3/8 ratchet
