+Enrique Gallego Thanks. The issue turned out to be a bad radiator. It was really blocked. I guess at 250K miles that's to be expected. Car has not overheated since.

Was that the entire coolant system? I have a major leak and I am preparing to pull my coolant system apart to find where the issue is.

I had the same issue on my e39 ,I changed the serpentine belt and it went away the serpentine belt looked good but was not working properly

Hello, why you didn't bleed the coolant in the engine ?

I did. The engine coolant is on the passenger side by the exhaust. I did not remove it when draining the coolant but as i explained in the video, I would remove it and drain it before installing new coolant

So far so good. It has not overheated again. I was worried I had damaged the engine with the overheating but that's not the case. It running great at 250K miles and Im hoping to get another 50K out of it.

how hot did your car get, mine overheated & shut off but I managed to restarted it after 15minutes. it was steaming off the right side(if your in front, facing the car) of the radiator. I suspect it's a clogged radiator, & it's leaking a tiny amount off the right side.

Ordered a New All Aluminum radiator, but Im wondering if I should do the thermostat & W/P if they look good?

You should replace them if they have not been replaced in a while. Both cost about $50 so it's well worth it.

Has not overheated since then. I was worried that the overheating might have blown the engine but that was not the case. Car runs great and still getting good mileage of 25mpg

your wasting your time with that plastic water pump, won't last long,

2 years ago I bought a new water pump for my BMW with this special metal fan because the old one was broken and made from plastic. Now a few days ago ( you can read my post above) this new pump broke again after only 35000 km. The first one made from plastic lasted for 250.000km. Plastic is also better when brakes because is not so heavy and will not damage the rubber housings when will be in the engine pushed by the pressure.

@@wwzsockiblogspotnl I think that BMW parts are they only way to repair these particular cars. more expensive but parts are designed specifically. alot of knoc offs floating around and alot of same repeat problems OEM/BMW ONLY. Problem fixed the first time.
