Nicely done! Thanks for showing the whole process! Most people don’t record how difficult it really is.

I need to do this on my 95, and I knew it is going to be a nightmare! God bless GM for giving us zero room to do anything!

FeedingDucks Good luck! This truck’s oil cooler lines have given me a lot of grief over the years. Luckily I’ve caught them dripping before they really let loose.

Leroydiesel and Quadstartuning both sell upgraded oil cooler lines and an upgraded oil cooler if you need. I went with the one from quadstar tuning since it seemed to be a better value and just as good. I will be installing it next month, hopefully the upgrade helps keep my 6.5 cool

I am about to do the lines on a 94. Got the oil cooler adapters but will source the lines locally. I plan to wrap the stainless with anti abrasion wrap. And secure it very well. But I plan to route it differently then going by the block...

Everything is fine but the hoses all leaked soon after. I need to rip the hoses out and have some made at a shop. I think the brand I bought was just cheap knock offs.

Hi there, I am a bit confused. I have a 1995 6.5 k2500. I thought the oil cooler is the one of the left? I bought the truck years ago from a guy and there isn't a rad on the right.
@robertscottII Жыл бұрын
By right if you’re talking drivers side. That would be oil cooler. On pass side is (I think) the tranny cooler. I thought all 6.5 had oil coolers. Maybe somebody removed it?

@@robertscottII thank you Scott. I just had to check the truck again and realized the previous owner deleted it, makes sense why the truck heats up with weight of my camper.

@@blackincawston one thing that helped stop my truck from overheating with heavy loads was doing a sprung wastegate. I built my own, but you could buy a turbomaster. I also switched to a 2qt filter.

@@robertscottII thank you Scott. I looked online now for those wastegate you mention, they are like 200$. I guess I be should look for install back the oil cooler

@@blackincawston Well the vacuum wastegate is well enough. What I meant was you just want to be sure you’re getting good boost. Something in my system wasn’t working years ago and I wasn’t getting any boost. I opted to delete the vacuum system and just go with the spring setup.
