Nicely done. Rolling restorations are the only option really when you have to still use the vehicle on a semi regular basis. I restored a 79 Jaguar XJ6 in my driveway many years ago, and had to always have it movable so not to block in my 2 vehicles in the garage. It has its limitations but keeps you focused. One thing at a time. Something that baffles me about Land Rovers and British cars in general, is that considering they are built in a part of the world that can be very damp; corrosion prevention is nonexistent. Interesting video. Very nice Discovery.👌

Agreed, as you say it helps keeps focus. A good way to prevent it from becoming a forever project. Yeah I've wondered about that myself. I wouldn't say "non-existent", though. Isn't that why all the oil leaks were designed into them ; )

Cheers. Nice, I kinda like the pre-facelift look slightly more than facelift. Good to see more of these old Disco's being restored. Good luck.

I had a 96 model. The amount of money I spent far exceeds what I spent on my wife. I could not stop oil leaks coming from the engine and power steering. Also I notice that you have gotten rid of the sun roof. Thank god I sold mine to a young chap. Now it’s his project/problem. I also have a complete set of carpets. New and in beige both front and rear should anyone need them

Ha, well you know what they say; don't start worrying until the oil suddenly stops leaking. As much as I like sunroof's, it's probably not worth it on an old Disco as I guess you know. 👍

Thanks! I just got a generic one from Jaycar Electronics. I only changed the one for the rear door and it fit/worked perfectly. Don't know if it would also work for the other doors though.

Great work on the restoration. My son has a 95 V8 auto D1 and has a few of the issues that you have had. Would you be able to tell me where you purchased the transfer /CDL decal from please ? I noticed you were missing the decal in the centre of the steering wheel , did you find a replacement for it as we have searched and have had no luck. Thanks Paul.
@TheNight-Rider

@@Paul-45-70 Thanks. I bought the CDL decal off Ebay: www.ebay.com/itm/293963214369?epid=1577933595&hash=item447192ae21:g:JIYAAOSwq8lgByNk I didn't think the airbag steering wheels had a centre decal(?)

Question what style are those black wheels I really like them what are called ? Thanks
@TheNight-Rider
@TheNight-Rider Жыл бұрын
I sold them and don't remember. But I know they are 15" and they needed specific wheel nuts to centre them. They also had quite a bit more offset than the factory ones, I remember they poked out of the guards a bit.
