Awesome bike. This was my first 2 stroke at 12 years old in 1997, scared the shit of out me every ride. Dad slipped out front tire on wet grass and broke his collar bone on this bike and friend broke both his wrists in the whoops. In 1998, aluminum frame came out and this was dated old technology, no one wanted their steel frames and traded them in for new aluminum frames and polished them shiny. 25 years later, this is a cream puff of a collectible 😎👍

Kaplan is spot on with the review. I had the same year and it was the most consistent, controllable bike ive ever ridden. Super smooth, little to no vibrations thru the bars and pegs. Power was plentiful and pulled clean all the way thru the powerband. I rode a lot of indoors technical stuff and outdoor motocross and this bike was highly impressive.

How do you think this would compare to a modern 125? And what about a 250 from 97 compared to modern 250 2 strokes?

@@swedish_sadhguru3854 steel frame 125s will keep up no problem with the newer 2strokes

@@richardyanoski7713 they are one of the best 125s 1988-1999 they just need a bit of work to make them on par with modern 125s, a guy in the netherlands made a 1992 honda cr125 37.1 hp on stock cylinder, he just added a 38mm carburetor with 2 shims in the powervalve governor for the preload which is necessary for the bigger carb beacuse bigger carb makes a bog if governor is kept stock just before the oppening, he also added a mid top custom pipe, bike hauls ass, now imagine if you did some more advanced port work and head work it would probably go 39 +/- 1 hp. great bikes!
