If you want an instrument panel you can see at night replace the bulbs with LED bulbs. Just so you know you have bought the best year GL1500 built. 97 has upgrades from previous years and no downgrades from later years. I currently own 2 97's one triked with 192000/ other with 73000. When you decide to change your timing belts go to Steve Saunders Goldwing Facts and get the upgrades on Idlers and belts rather than using OEM parts it will save you about $200. I have changed these on 5 1500's with no problems.

the nice thing about buying a goldwing... most of them have never been beaten and most have been maintained since they were owned by people that could afford to keep up with them

Clutch fluid level changes will tell you when the slave cylinder is needing some service. It can't be overstated how dangerous having brake fluid and engine oil mix is. My rebuild didn't work. I went ahead and spent 90 bucks for a NOS assembly.

A very complete video. Do you have any idea what the secondary air filter is? And what type of LED lights did you put in the fog lights? Finally, you only cut one cable and that only makes the lights always stay on? Greetings.

The sub or secondary air filter is a foam filter that filters the air before it reaches the air injection solenoids, and from there the carburetors. For the cornering lights to stay on as fog lights you have to disconnect or cut the green wire on both relays that I point to. One relay works the left light and the other works the right light, but both relays are on the right side of the bike where I point to them in the video. Here are the bulbs I bought for them, one pack contains 2 bulbs - www.ebay.com/itm/165805052556

A lot of info. A little too Much chatter maybe. I did learn a lot. Thanks. The turn corner lights don’t work well a driving to figure lights. They are facing the woods. So not much use to see ahead.
