Hi Corey Sorry you are having problems. I do not know! But what I would check is the transmission sector cables. I believe that as this problem has evolved, it’s likely they have stretched. They can be adjusted. Beyond that it’s the selector switch pack or your brake light switch. can you hear the transmission lock coming off with the ignition on when you press and release the brake pedal?

I have just re-watched your video Corey. I think you may have two relatively minor problems that have coincided to make it look more complicated. I note the rear bulb failure light. That could be caused by the Brake light switch not working which in turn would prevent you from starting the car as it won't start unless it knows you are using the brake. I am away from home and my jag at the moment so can't check but the Handbrake may have a separate microswitch. If you don't normally use the handbrake. Put that on and see if it starts. I will put a very short video on my channel tonight with the sound that the brake pedal should cause under the gear lever. The beeping suggests the cables are stretched on the selector or the microswitch pack is dicky on the selector. John

Hi I am from Canada, I had this problem last summer. My wheels were turned and the steering was one full turn lock. Nothing work until I force the steering wheels and turn the wheels left and right and it did start. I found that the lock wheels in the steering column cut the ignition switch. You have to turn the ignition ON and force the steering wheels on both side and remove the pressure on the ignition switch. Bring your wheels straight and Try that Michel good luck

I am hoping you got this fixed, but my best guess is the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission. Having the same problem right now, except the shifter is very difficult to get back into park, mines frozen. I bet the little red "P" is not illuminated either (the one on your shifter), probably because the safety switch does not know what gear the car is in, it probably thinks your car is between gears and not actually in Park. I also bet your car starts in neutral, if you held the brake, shift into N and try to start it. The neutral safety switch is not cheap and I believe it's discontinued too. The key not turning again is normal, it is to keep you from bumping the key again if the car is already running. That would cause damage to the flexplate and/or starter. Pretty common on European cars, not very helpful when I stall my Audi and have to literally turn the key off (headlights and all) in an intersection. So, my educated guess is the neutral safety switch on the side of the transmission, not to be confused with the interlock switch which is what activates when you press the brake pedal, that is the silver solenoid kind of half under the radio. If you already fixed the problem, would you mind posting what fixed it? I'm really just curious at this point. Thanks

Hey there and thanks for the input! I haven't driven the car much since Covid-19 began, so fixing it was put on hold. However the car will start and drive now if I leave it in neutral and use the e brake to park. Every time I turn the car off I get those super annoying beeps from under the steering wheel that last about 10 seconds. I have also narrowed down to the neutral safety switch and have been waiting on a donor car, probably from a junk yard, to find a replacement. I'm hoping to replace it really soon and see if that does the trick so I'll post a follow up video as soon as I do. I'll tag you in it! Thanks again!
