Man I miss watching these races, the points made sense, there was actual racing to watch.. No pissin and moaning, cautions when they needed them,no wrecking one another every lap..man how good NASCAR used to be🇺🇸

Thanks for sharing the entire thing so fans of the other drivers that did so well this year can also relive their heroic efforts, Jeff wasn't the only one had a great 1997 performance

Jeff and the Rainbow Warriors set the tone with those first 2 wins. Mark and Dale gave him a good run for his money but they weren’t gonna be denied

16:52 - I love how Rusty spoke about the bump n run at Bristol. What a legend. 51:54 - that's a poor effort on the Roush name. *youtube spelling and grammar police in the building"

The Exide car wins the Interstate Batteries 400. Bet that annoyed some folks.

21:05 It still boggles my mind that Jeff Gordon never did the Memorial Day double in his entire career. Gordon very well could've not only won both the Indy 500 and the Coke 600, but he could've done it more than once, especially during his peak in the late 1990's.

For a smaller team the Petty PE/PE2 cars were impressive in 1997.

I agree. Bahari Racing had a great year as well. Wish they would've been able to keep Johnny Benson; I think his and the team's fortunes would've been different had he not left, but Johnny still had a very nice career in Cup and a great career in Trucks.

Big 3 dominate a season
@atlfan486 жыл бұрын
@@Nfulks96 It was just different. The rules were not quite as tight. You had at least a couple races a year that had unexpected winners. The cars were not as bulletproof as they are today. There were a lot of Sunday's where the dominant car did not finish. The races had natural drama. Not the created drama of today. I really miss it.
