Love it! I also have Firebird Fever. I am on my third one, a 2002 Firebird sport coupe with 3800 V6 and 5-speed stick. A really fun car to drive! And it's a real sports car by European definition. i bought it in 2010 from the first owner.

About this time last year I bought a Black 97' Firebird. I've had the 3.8 V6 engine almost completely rebuilt. I picked it up for 2500 dollars. I have to say it's a lot of fun to drive and it's really reliable. I just now need to get some new paint on it. It has spots on the hood where its chipped.

Nice bird, it's definitely a beauty! I have a 96 black 3.8 5 speed. I brought it to Cleveland from Florida some 15 years ago and I've been keeping it garage kept( with heat). A family member pretty much gave it to me because the plastic assembly that holds the heater hose in place blew off and overhead the engine, and the engine was washed out and knocking( I was able to go to a junkyard and pull the plugs out of a 98 Oldsmobile Alero and I was able to do away with that plastic). Had a mechanic swap blocks I got from summit racing and it's been pretty reliable. A few issues I had was the drive shaft is 2 piece, and nobody carry them, but I was able to use the one piece that the 8 cyl would use and actually rides smoother, then the security light came on so I tricked it by placing a resistor where the key would sense, and changing the middle spark plugs are a pain because the manifold is dam near smacked up against it, but it's all minor stuff, the car has 130,000. Loved watching this. And I especially liked the love for a good 'ol standard V6 Firebird! I myself have a 98 Firebird. Almost identical to this one minus the t-tops. I've loved the Firebird/Trans Am's since I was kid and always wanted one. In 2000, I needed to get a new car, and was on the hunt for a Firebird. Couldn't afford the price or insurance for a Trans Am, so I settled for the Bird. We didn't have any money, and had only been married for 2 years. My wife pretty much wiped out her savings so that we'd have enough to buy it. It was 2 years old with only 14K miles on it. I still have it today. It's been garage kept all those years, and never driven in the snow for 17 years. It only has 81K miles on it now. Because of when and how I got it, I never want to part with it. I'm very sentimental with it. Wish I could share a picture in KZbin! Loved the video, and looking forward to a future video with hie Firebird and your Camaro!

That was a GREAT story! Years ago I owned a 2002 Trans Am but had to sell due to personal matters. I have been shopping again and would like an LS1 based Trans Am again but the LT1 Trans Ams are rather affordable. DECISIONS! DECISIONS!

Nice bird. I used to own a red 1996 Trans Am but sold it back in 2010. Around 2016 I started searching for a TA. I spent years looking but found mostly expensive junk. I decided to search for a V6 Firebird that was well maintained. In the summer of 2022 I found a loaded, red, 1998 Y87 W68 Firebird. I'm the third owner and the guy who I bought it from kept it in a climate controlled garage for over 20 years. He only washed it once, the day I bought it. It looks and smells brand new.

Love the looks of the 93-97 firebird coupes/ Formulas. I barely see any around. Almost kinda looks like the 91-92 firebirds. I’ve seen more 3rd gens than these and I wish more people would drive this this year range of the 4th gens.

almost the same story as me. as "kid" I had a 91 Z28 and I still regret to this day selling it, so I always had that itch. Now it's 2023, my son is 16, and the "itch" is really getting to me, my kid is old enough he can appreciate a fun car, and I have a RAM for everything else, we gave my son my wife's Cobalt, so now we need another car, so I found a 2002 Firebird. Bought it last year January about 300 miles away, took an Amtrak out and drover her back, my wife loves the car, it's the V6 version so I'm not worried about her killing herself or my son if he wants to take girls on a date. We took it on a 2000 mile roadtrip from PA to SC, to GA, back up through TN, KY, WV, OH, and back to PA and it's been a great car, i'm getting ready to bring out for the 2024 driving season now that it seems snow is probably done for the year.

I always liked the Firebird body, but not the top. So I bought me a 2001 Firebird ragtop. Red body, black top from factory with the 3.8L V6. Like new now, even the power antenna for the radio works. Just added rearview camera with 4.8in display.

@@misterbuklau4053 yes they do, all I was saying is a lot were lost to cash4clunkers 3rd&4th gens at least in my area. I know 53 4th gens and 114 3rd gens and that was just at 1 yard, and they were instructed to crush them, they couldn't even sell parts. Truly sad a dealer I talked to even said they drove all but 1 to their deathbeads 😬

Landlord gave me one a gift and slowly getting things fixed up on it. Lucky the engine rebuild was already done. Not paying for it helps me justify the spending on restoring. Runs great just sounds terrible due to exhaust missing after the wheel well. After that just need to fix headlight motor, all door and hatch seals. Then a new paint job.

AJ Torres if yours is a 94, it’s not a 3.8, and if it’s a 3.8, it’s not a 94. Unless a previous owner swapped it that is.

Charles Padgett it’s meant to help you in slick conditions. It puts the car in second gear, so u don’t spin tires starting in 1st.

Welp, you lost me! I happen to think, the fourth generation brought us beyond a cheesy movie about delivering alcohol. Besides, the late 70's Trans am was horried looking compared to the same year Camaro. Move on past it folks,...Burts dead, Jackie's dead, and Sally is almost dead. The Bandit does not encapsulate everything there was about the greatest car company ever, or its finest ride,...the WS6!
