And OSU should donate some money to the ASU DC Phil Snow, who decided to play prevent D even though the bux got the ball at their own 40 due to the shitty kickoff by ASU and gobs of time left.

Joe Germaine was poetry in motion. OSU has had a lot of qood QB's over the years (I've watched since the early 70's). Germaine was smooth as silk, never got shaken. He still holds a lot of records. He was second in the Heisman the following year...people forget that.

The MVP of this game wasnt Joe Germaine or David Boston, it was ASU's defensive coordinator, Phil Snow, who decided to play prevent even after the crappy kickoff gave the bucks the ball at the 35 yard line. Boston was so wide open my grandmother could have caught that pass and crawled into the endzone. A colossal choke by ASU. How many games have we seen the prevent D snatch defeat from the jaws of victory? RIP to coach Snyder, who passed on 4/13/09.

Another reason no bowls are going to come to those locations, aside from the cold climate, is that we already have about as many bowls as you can possibly have, the only way to have more is to create bowls for teams that 5 or 6 games. So for those locations to get bowls, some bowls where they are being played now will have to be closed down. No way is the orange bowl going from Miami to NYC, the rose from Pasadena to philly, or the gator from Jacksonville to Chicago. Just simply aint happenin.

I think AZ State was poised for the national title and lost it in the last minute and a half. Maybe I'm wrong...But what this game doesnt portray was just what an amazing season Jake Plummer brought to Az state. I think it was quadruple overtime with USC. A couple other overtime games that were thrillers over top 25 teams that elevated Az state almost to the top. What a year..

Spare me the home field advantage stuff. Didnt you see Oregon go into Michigan 2 years ago and leave with a 39-7 win, a michigan team that would go on to beat defending champ florida in a bowl? Did you not see USC just 2 months ago walk into the Shoe with a freshman qb with all of one game under his belt lead SC to a victory there too? You wont have that home field advantage excuse this year because the pac10 will be represented by either Oregon or Stanford.

Really painful to watch this as an ASU Fan. The most painful memory is watching Pat Tillman who would be killed by "Friendly Fire" over in Afghanistan. War sucks. Especially unjustified War. Pat bought into a lie that they were "the Enemy". He found out whom the enemy was and paid for it with his life. No. The Afghanis did not blow up the World Trade Center, or the Pentagon, on 9-11. There was nobody from Afghanistan, or Iraq, on those Planes. Mainly they were SAUDIS...our "friends", FIFTEEN OF THEM.. There were two from the United Arab Emirates, one Egyptian and one Yemeni. Iraq had no WMDs. Even GW Bush had the audacity to joke about that. Many Americans DIED needlessly for that. IT WAS A DAMNED LIE!!! Tillman gave up his NFL career, and his life, by buying into a lie. This is a very painful video. RIP Pat Tillman.

I guess that I will find out on the other side. I know that he was doing what he believed in doing. It was tragic that he paid for it with his life. I am very sad about that. I was rooting for him at ASU. Watching him sack that Washington Cougar QB live the next year was worth every dime I spent on that game. (What was that prima donna's WSU QB's name anyway??? For the life of me I just cannot remember. I know that the San Diego Chargers washed him out. I could look it up...That just shows to go you...) (Edited...Yeah...Now I remember...Ryan Leaf I guess I am getting CRS Disease.) I was happy that the NFL analysts were wrong. I was happy that both he and Jake Plummer played for the Arizona Cardinals. I was able to enjoy them more. I did not want him dead for the quagmire of Afghanistan that we are buried in currently. I do not think he would agree with it now. Most soldiers do not. It is very sad when ANYBODY dies young, needlessly, when they have so much talent to offer.

Actually the pac10 has not done well against Wisky, losing 3 rose bowls against them from 1994-2000. The first 2 were by UCLA (so much for that home field advantage theory eh?) and then the most recent one came following maybe the weakest season ever for the pac10, 1999, when Wisky beat Stanford 17-9. In 2k, UW beat Purdue and Drew Brees by 10. Oregon beat Texas in the holiday bowl, and Oregon state beat ND in the fiesta. OSU and UW both finished 11-1.

Cooper initially went with QB Jackson for "political reasons" in this game. He wasn't getting it done and brought Germaine off the bench to pull it out for them.
