I thought you got your patience from the truck! Oh well. I got rid of my hoard because I couldn't keep track of all of it so they had to go. NOW someone else can worry with it. Glad you're mobile again and God Bless!

Hey Lewie! This jet ski frustrated me for years before I bought that truck. It was actually the second video I started for my KZbin channel, but I got frustrated and pushed it aside for a while. I guess persistence finally paid off!

You don't need to pull the engine to get to the fuel unit. Simply remove rear seat shock and lift seat up to access the top fuel tank access port cover under the seat.

I just got mine back on the water but its kind of doggy on acceleration. Once it gets up and on plane it runs well. Any suggestions? Brand new OEM carbs, pop offs set correct. Accelerator pumps primed. Idles fine out of water, barely idles in water. Oil pump is set to OEM mark and RAVE valve rebuilt so far.

I would start by making sure there isn’t a vacuum leak in any of the fuel hoses between the tank and the pump. Then I would open up the mixture screws until it bogs and turn in 1/4 turn from there.

Engine boggy then make sure accelerator pumps are both working when you hit the throttle. Verify you see then shoot gas when you hit the throttle.Set idle speed according to manual and make sure oil pump is reset. Install a tiny tach commercial if you need to know rpms for setting. If engine not bogging but ski doesn't pull you up fast and lift front end up high when accelerator is hit then check ring wear esp if you can feel or hear any cavitation occuring. Even a 97 800 XP should pop the front up high when you gas it whereas the 98 99 XPL will actually jump out of the water on take off and starve for water for the pump for a split second. Mine do.
