Im getting a 1999 3rd gen Sr5 soon! i am stoked. Its at 197k miles. Barely about to be broken in haha ;) Its running so strong still when i test drove it. Alot has been replaced on it as well but same motor and trans. Just stuff like timing belt, pan gasket, axel bearings, ball joints Etc. So its got even more to push now. These things are tanks man. I was going to buy a new truck but i might as well just get one of these classics!

Appreciate the honesty in the video man 👍🏼. Might've missed it, but did you say yours has a diff lock button?

Nice review man! Interesting to see the changes they made between yours and mine. I'm planning on doing some off road videos in the summer, that would be cool to see from you too!
@rccr235 жыл бұрын
Thanks, what options on yours are different from mine? Yeah hopefully I'll get some offroading in this summer, looking forward to your videos of it!

@@rccr23 I don't have any buttons by the hand brake, they're all above the A/C controls. Also, my cup holders are down by the hand brake rather than in the dash. My digital clock is between the 2 vents rather than off to the right. Minor interior changes. Sounds good though man, looking forward to seeing those videos!

Bro, you running heavy oil for engine knock? It kind of sounds like it, and you said you run 15w40
@rccr233 жыл бұрын
It's just lifter tick, and yeah running the thick oil and sometimes some STP oil treatment helps quiet it down a little
@alexfischer94933 жыл бұрын
Huh, I’d get the valves adjusted, because these engines are overhead cam engines, so they don’t really have lifters to make that tap like a Chevy would with their pushrod style and rocker arms

i also have a 1997 sr5 v6. has about 260k on the chassis with a new transmission and rebuilt engine. have you ever had any issues on long trips with it? any breakdowns or anything?
@rccr233 жыл бұрын
No, I've taken it to Utah, Colorado and everything in between without any issues. My lifters started ticking pretty loud when I was in moab but that wasn't a breakdown or anything, it still drives fine.

How many miles does she have?

The reason it doesn’t wanna shift in the morning is because Toyota made it like that. If u rev it up a little to abt 35 mph it’ll shift. Mine has 302k miles
