What amazes me the most in the Toyota Century is the fact that every single KZbin review of it turns the reviewer into a kid. It has the effect of bringing grown-ups into the sincere joy of touching and feeling every bit and piece of a car like we did as 5-year olds. The amazement of each reviewer when turning lights, pressing buttons touching the upholstery shows it is a really special car. Congrats on the video!

Some of those 3 speed w/ overdrive transmissions performed quite well in the 1990's, and had a tendency to last the lifetime of the car. Fewer gears = fewer parts and less of a chance something screws up and leaves ya stranded.

It's a shame that this Toyota Century was never offered in the United States as a Lexus. It certainly would have been the most luxurious car that Toyota ever offered here.
@PlatinumNath
@PlatinumNath Ай бұрын
Most Americans probably wouldn't put it in too much of a high regard since it'd be less powerful than other luxury cars of the time despite it's more luxurious state. History showed that Americans always wants more power first before anything else except for really rare exceptions (Mazda MX-5 and, briefly, Suzuki Jimny/Samurai)

I will own a Century. These are some of my favorite Japanese cars. I love these cost no object, just build the best car cars. I loved seeing Centuries on the road in Japan and wondering who was inside. They're subtle but they have presence. Cloth is the true luxury option. Not burning hot in the summer, not freezing cold in the winter, doesn't require regular conditioning, quiet, and breathable. I don't understand why leather is the luxury seat material.

@johannjohann6523 18 күн бұрын
I've thought for years car companies should offer or have 2 fuel pumps for all of their cars. It sucks when a fuel pump goes out and they will go bad. So having a secondary fuel pump would be cool.. That is naturally if people kept both fuel pumps operating instead of being cheap and just the 1. Which is probably what 90% of the people would do. Never mind. lol Interesting and unique car, but a little strange and overdone too. I mean those seat look like something from the Renaissance Period. And not in a good way. I guess the car screams and I'm rich and I'm old. Not necessarily in that order.

Not factory-installed, and I’d guess someone else will have a more recent example, but my dad had a Blaupunkt portable radio, AM/FM/SW (all mono) which he bought in the late ‘60s or around 1970. They made a slide-in bracket so you could install it under-dash in a car, which he did a few years later with his ‘74 AMC Hornet. Much bigger than a normal car radio.
