1998 Bmw 740il new fuel pump and first start

someone put water in my tank , possibly ruined my fuel pump. makes a real loud whine. i removed as much water as i can, i also got a tick noise. did it go away?

it did go away if you drove it almost every day, if it sits to long it has it at start up and goes away within the first 2 min.
