If you left the cross member sit out in the sun the metal expand and it'll make it a pain in the ass to get back between the frame rails.

You didn’t have to take off the exhaust right

@@Em2boiz yeah I don’t remember removing that I just slid the trans back pass the exhaust and then lowered it down

Good job bro I’m replacing the trans on a 99 Durango 5.2l 4x4. Do they share the same trans?

They should similar but I'm not 100% sure I'm more of a chevy person but the removal and install should be similar to what I did in the videos

How much transmission fluid did you put?

I put 2 gallons witch is 8 quarts but it requires 9.5 to 10 quarts I always put close to enough then check it and add as needed

I've been taking my truck to so many different shops out here in Atlanta Georgia I paid so many thousands of dollars to get the things I want fixed. When it came to the transmission somebody said that'll be $1,400 I paid that and my transmission still doesn't work... now I'm in the mind where I don't have trust for any mechanic shops out here

I Wish u was here in Atlanta Georgia to Fix My 99 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L 4X4 My transmission starting to give out i guess. It says I have a torque converter clutch open when I hook My scanner up to it and it also say 3-4 shift pending.

I had those same codes while pulling an empty car trailer(maybe 2k lbs) and I barely got home with it. I've decided to rebuild the trans as fluid is a dark brown and smells burnt. It would barely move around in the driveway. There is a video uploader named, The Transmission Bench. He has a great youtube video series on how to rebuild the 46re and 47re transmissions that are in these model trucks. He is close to you there in Atlanta as his shop is in Augusta. I watched the whole video presentation on how to rebuild this 46re.
