"Bolt cutters are your disconnect" reminds me of the apocryphal story of how the term SCRAM came about. The SCRAM button is the emergency shut off for nuclear reactors, and legend has it that it is called that because in the first nuclear power tests, there was a guy stationed above the reactor in a room with a rope that held a boron control rod above the reactor. If the reactor got out of control, it was his job to cut the rope so the boron would drop in and stop the reactor. The tool they gave him to accomplish this task? An axe. And so they called him the Safety Control Rod Axe Man.

scram being used to mean leave quickly predates chicago pile-1 by around 20 years and other witnesses and the schematics of the reactor agree the axe man story is a false etymology(and bullshit in general, there was no axe, the manual scram procedure in case the other systems fail is some of the operators risking their lives to dump liquid cadmium into the reactor), the rods are deployed by a button labeled SCRAM because in the case of a meltdown you press it and scram out of there

Welcome to the turbo nugget gang. I have a 1983 Volvo 240 GrandLuxe Turbo and it's both fast and an absolute nugget car. And i can't drive it during winter at all because it doesn't have ABS or ESP. Not a single safety feature. Combined with the turbo lag (most late 70's and early 80's turbocharged cars have) it's a widowmaker. But it got tiny wipers for the headlamps.

Now I would suggest to Dankpods to push the engine of ANY Performance Car Small or Big to the Red line, not beyond it but just to the Red line. She needs to be taken Hard like any other Performance Car does for carb build up to not happen as fast. What gives you a Cool car when its not pushed to the limit, take it to a Track and nail it a few laps my guy.

If you really want to get Tony down to fourth on the litreboard, you can always run your test with the frog. Tony’s already humiliated by a regular modern car; you should remind him just how far he is from the fabled 0 liters.

One of these just sold for nearly $90k in Jakarta, only 1 of 6 ever imported to Indonesia. Boggles the mind that someone would pay that much for a Daihatsu.

Its a pretty cool car all things considered, the Charade we never got. The parts should be *mostly* common considering Daihatsus are kinda popular around here. (Plus the buyer should have money to get parts from Japan lol)
