I'm impressed how much I learn about cars watching these videos! Your bits on the specifics and the overall aerodynamics are really cool, I'm starting to notice I'm seeing things Derek has mentioned on cars I see out and about, it's a nice benefit.

Low KMs but OMG what a lot of work to restore, I ended up finding a 5 with 161,000 KMs from auction but looked after so well almost like new. Think a lot of the KMs were highway driving as the car came from Nasu district.

This car went for some serious money, good examples of Evo 5 are thin on the ground. I've just imported one recently.

That sagging of the door upholstery is a common issue with those Lancers. My first vehicle was a 1998 CK2 and it developed similar issue after a few years. Beside that, it was a great vehicle.

best evo.... wasn't it considered to be faster than the evo 6 as well??I'm talking about the rs version of course....

Maybe faster, but definitely bot as quick on the track, IMO evo 5 looks better than the 6

@@RandomlnternetGuy idk, tsukuba lap times are saying otherwise.... then again idk how reputable that site is.... even if its somewhat reputable, tires were changing like crazy during the late 90s till the mid 00s so who knows...but like all of you, I primarily like the evo 5 more than the 6 because of the front end but also its "goofy" spoiler.....

Sorry, I was confusing the 4 and the 5 being similar designs but a larger size. The 6 is completely different now that I Google it. I need to check my head. We only do about 2-3 of these a year where it used to be 10-15.

Do they sell Hyundai's in japan?
@PacificCoastAuto3 жыл бұрын
In 15 years in Japan I have seen two of them. I'm not sure why Korea doesn't sell cars here but I suspect it has something to do with Japanese people not wanting to be seen as supporting a rival country.

Derek, I have a curious question It is possible to know about the radiation charge on those cars from Fukuyama?
@PacificCoastAuto3 жыл бұрын
They are all tested at the port of export and you can get that report if you like. In about 2000 cars we exported, we had two cars that failed and both were within two years after Fukushima.

Coming from a V owner who ever had this car before it was sold needs to be shot. Those drill holes in the dash will be a nightmare to fix. Disrespectful care of a legend. Hopefully the new owner can undo all that damage done to her.
