Thanks for making these videos. I'm saving up right now to import a car once I finish school and move out of California. Watching your videos has been a really fun way to daydream about the future and see what's out there. You have a really great voice for this too! If you ever come across a Nissan Pao, please make a video!

The rust issues are very fixable with hand-formed patches or full panels from Mitsubishi thankfully still availablefor most Evos, but the bodyworkers/restorer that makes it look good as new(or better) won't be cheap. BUT they're artists, so you're not just paying for their time and materials, but for proper automotive art. What a gorgeous car this is, ready to be brought back to its former glory!

Beautiful, too bad that by the time these are U.S legal, there will be pretty much none left in Japan!

@vinaytripathi1696 3 жыл бұрын
um i actually think that there will be left as there are a lot of owners of evos in japan that will never sell it most people who sell it but not to an export company the sell it locally yeah some jdm cars are exported but most of them are owned by personal owners

@@vinaytripathi1696 This is accurate, I found a lovely 4G63T powered Airtrek r Ralliart for sale at a dealer in Japan and they wouldn't take my offer, even when it allowed for some markup (as is common on registration by a dealer) So it was a few months of auction hunting and I got one to my specs through Pacific Coast. Lovely people to work with and they give sound advice! And funny enough, it arrives Monday, so I was paying import duty and tax last Friday and filing paperwork through a customs agent. Now, just to wait for it to clear customs. in a week or two!

Some US importers are most likely already buying them, as you can imagine once that car hits 25 yrs of age prices will skyrocket.

@@bustersgarage yup true some dealers with jdm cars in japan do not accept offers from other countries thats why r32 gtrs are left in japan a whole lot of them i have searched and found of lot of skylines for sale in japan most of jdm cars in japan are owned by outsiders who moved thier

The black underneath would worry me, like whats that hiding? Try to buy one that hasn't been covered up underneath or ideally covered with clear wax so that you can still see the condition underneath the wax coat

Rust is extremely typical for Mitsubishi’s.

Always liked evos but I wouldn't want to own one feel like Mitsubishi made great cars but not ones that would last , probably the worst maker for paint work too

ive heard stories (correct me if i am wrong) that they used recycled steel and the gauge is thinner. i know that for example in north america the same lancer of this same generation was the same body but called mirage there were made with a thinner steel panels than the Japanese one

@@darkcorsair247 I have heard they use thinner steel then others too , when I was younger I always was on team evo but I think for the money I would have a imprezza they seem to be better built. Its also a shame Mitsubishi are nothing what they were compared to the 90s not even trying these days
