1998 Subaru Forester Review

Ian Royle gives us a review of the 1998 model Subaru Forester, as he takes it to a private airfield where he test's it's performance and handling, as well as finding out how practical it is. The Forester comes with only one choice of engines, a 2.0 litre, and it produces around 122bhp. Plus, Ed Swatman - managing director of Subaru UK, explains why they decided to produce the Forester and why it was a must for the company.

@@angelgjr1999 he said a mercury thermometer. mercury is not good for your health and if you spill some of it it could be very dangerous

Its a shame the Forester in the UK is now a lot bigger, and CVT only. Id have loved one of these new in its day. Bet it would still be going in 2019 ! I do like the new model, but this version looks a very tough car.

I got a 2.3 97 ranger. It just keeps going. My 98 2.5 blew a head gasket..go figure

dukedude220 early 2.5 Subaru engines do seem to have some history of failure, but im sure there are no issues with current versions.
