Funny comment below about the headgaskets. I have a ‘98 and the gaskets blew at 140K. I replaced them myself with the updated gaskets. I’m at 240K now and the EJ25 motor shows no sign of giving up the ghost. It’s a great car. I will drive it until it literally falls apart.

Is videos awesome I just bought my first first gen, everyone has conflicting views on what the small compartment was in the trunk now it's confirmed... The gosh darn radio antenna the gosh darn radio antenna! My 2002 has an antenna in the window ... What was in there from Subaru?!

Yeap my 2001 forester driver window goes down automatically but won't go up automatically seems pretty dumb to have one thing but not the other

federeal regulations. subaru didnt include resistance detectors in their windows, which would prevent body parts to get stuck, for a long time, thats also the reason, why auto up/down was only available to the driver side window, as he usualy would see, if there were something between it.
