In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 1998 Volvo V70. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

+Nico B Got one too and it is surely bang for a buck. Mine cost 2000euros and has all goodies including volvo's 901 stereo system with dolby surround 5.1. 2,4 engine is pretty cool when you accelerate, it does rather sporty roaring. Wich i heard is cause of its 5 cylinder setup.

200 000 miles. But it has had only few owners during its time. So maintance chain has been good during its lifespan. I think my next car will be allso Volvo v70, but newer version and probably with awd and turbo. With similar milage or lower it is very strong car to have. 2nd generation model has bulkier body wich i do like, since imho car should be car not a tincan =).

Extremely comfortable car to drive, reminds me of a bmw e39 or e60, not as good but close. Sadly there are no 1998 V70 volvos left in sweden in this condition.. :(

@saabkyle04 People tweak those oddometers all the time here in Sweden. A common problem, for unexperinced it's hard to tell if the car oddometer has been modified. Service history is something to check extra carefully. We have a 850 with 26K KMs, and V70 Gen II with 19K Kms. Both still going strong, very reliable cars.

The GLT is a perfect car. Low pressure 147 KW turbo with oodles of torque and low engine speed tractability. The only downside is that it was the year before plug on coil so still has distributor and leads. Plus side is no ETM and a simple 4 speed auto. How would you find one with 35,000 miles and in that condition?

Check out Edmonds, every other review is loaded with issues with this car. However most unhappy people will review listing complaints where people happy with it just never bother reviewing at all. A lot of people have issues with the ABS, sensors ect. I sort of wish i would have taken a chance on it, seems like a lot of car for the money.

This car which wasn't built in Göteborg, Sweden (but in Gent, Belgium) any more, is already of inferior quality in terms of material, workmanship, durability of supplier parts, and rust protection, ... good enough for U.S.-American quality standards, but by no means satisfactory for demanding European buyers, who perfer long-term cars. Hence, this vehicle was a flop in Europe and especially in Germany, Russia and Scandinavia, and the popularity of the 850, and Its sales figures could never be matched by the early S/V70, its successor model. I still drive my 1996 unbreakable 2.0 litre 850 "elk", Made in Sweden (of course, regularly serviced only by Volvo), which indeed, is still as young and fresh as on the first day with meanwhile 215'000 kilometres, the best car I ever owned, even better than Mercedes, BMW, or Audi. You'd be better-served by buying a well-kept 850 rather than the sucessor model, the Volvo S/V70.

the stereo in this car is better than a lot of new ones. my 2000 V70V was in an accident and I had a 2013 mazda 3 for a rental. the mazda was the worse stereo ever. after a day I didn't use it anymore and I had that car for two weeks while my Volvo was being fixed. that Volvo stereo may look ancient, but the only ones more advanced are in new European cars...and 95 s class Mercedes. lol, only two exceptions.

There's only one thing that sucks about being a V70 owner. The fact that very few Americans realize that this station wagon will kick the shit out of their pathetic muscle car. It takes a lot to make horspeower owners realize that they can't touch us. But, eventually we overcome.
