Found an easy way to get the headlamp out of my 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty. This should work for the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004 model years Superduty and Excursion. Amazon Affiliate Link www.primal-outdoors.com/headl...

Just a tip. If you take a 14 mil socket and slide it into the 3rd anchor point it will push both tabs in and the light will slide right out. I am just replacing bulbs and was to lazy to try your method. Got lucky and the first socket I tried worked perfectly. Lol

If I was a woman I'd mouth smash certain parts of your body. Fussed with the first aide trying to reuse the original and had a hard time getting new screw to grab. Other side I was gonna struggle when I heard a voice slap my head and say, "hey dumb@ss, get a 14 mil socket. Took me ten times longer to write this note than it did to get that adjustment assembly out. Well played man.

Thanks so much for this video. My husband graduated to Heaven last year and the left headlamp on 02 F350 Superduty went away this week. I’m pretty sure I can do this after watching your video 👍
@edog19553 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear about your husband. You've probably taken care of the issue, but for others: Note that this is a full headlight replacement! If a bulb burns out on a "non-sealed" headlight, you can just replace the bulb. See a video on that proceedure. I got some Anzo headlights from AutoAnything. They do NOT come with bulbs, and instead of using the old Silverstars [they have reduced output over time] I got new Phillips "X-tremeVision" bulbs. They were recommended by many.

Over 3 years after your video. Big help. I have the 7.3 so I had a battery behind the driver side. Reusing the original adjuster was key to saving time. Great job keeping it simple and not leaving out details. So many other videos on YT skip over the key points. I really struggled with the turn/side marker screws. Very small gap and only installed the outboard. I even had a harder time putting in the outboard clips than removing the originals. You video was spot on. Thank you!!

Thanks for the info. Made my job alot easier. To refine it a bit more, I discovered that if push a 9/16" socket over top of the old pin that squeezes the ears in perfectly so it comes right out. Also my upper clips were really stubborn so I threaded a 3" wood screw a few threads into the clip and used a claw hammer to pull it out. I was barely able to salvage the clip but it was better than having to order new ones. Hope this helps.

Big help on this. Backed adusting screws out as suggested really helped. Holding the retention tabs down on drivers side just wasn,t working. Even tried holding a 14mm socket over tabs (back of frame) to hold them in. Finally got a drill bit and gutted the little sucker and it ell out...YAY. Replacement buckets came with adjuster assemplies so sacrifice a no-brainer. I will do this again if EVER I have to change buckets. One more thing. When starting the long aduster screw, note that the screw has two flat spots top & bottom. They have to be top and bottom to get the long screw to seat deeply enough to engage.

first, thanks for a video with GREAT VISUALS - close ups and showing us where things are relative to the area. but, after watching you struggle, i hit my clips with the wd-40 and looked in the shed for a bent awl, lucky me i inherited one, and they make quick work of those damn things. The long-ass screw assembly (that you left attached to the vehicle) is in fact an adjuster. anyway keep it up i find videography incredibly tedious so i'm glad there's smart people out there who go through the ordeal of making them 👍👍
@johncarpenter14766 ай бұрын
Great tips on comments. I would only add that you should tighten the two screws FIRST to that lower turn signal assembly BEFORE installing the headlamp assembly because you might need some play to get to those screws depending upon how high/tight the top of the bumper is. Otherwise, you'll have to lower the bumper or remove the headlight assembly if the space is too tight. Each truck is different

Thanks so much for making this. Your shortcut saved me. There was no way to reach the original connector...and no need to - as you show @ 3:30 to 4:30. One tip I found is that the new screw fed into the connector best if the flat sides were horizontal, not angled. PS: The link doesn't work for the headlights you used. I followed your instructions on how to remove the headlights which went smoothly. l had a hard time going back in getting the threads to start, so I decided remove the adjuster. I found that a thread adapter for 1/2” copper pipe (1/2” MIP threads x 1/2” Cu Pipe slip) will just fit over the inside end of the light adjuster which can then be pulled out.
