Usually people think on BMW like the fastest and agressive car of its category...but this car and many others of the brand are the car many drivers are searching. A good car that doesn't need to be sporty...only good and elegant....good video Joe!!
@worldhello12342 жыл бұрын
Really? BMWs are more like deadbeats and show-offs first choice. "A good car that doesn't need to be sporty...only good and elegant....good video Joe!!" What if a good car is a sporty car to someone else?

a car doesn't have to have a lot of power or a big engine to be a sports car. This tuning of the whole car gives it sporty characteristics. In BMW, with each engine, the response to the accelerator pedal is immediate, aggressive. There are many factors in sports cars that contribute to the fact that a car is a sports car. It's safe to say that every BMW is sporty. in addition, the BMW is very comfortable, well soundproofed, comfortable, tailored, created for the driver.

The problem with the e46 is the fiability of many engine piece. Sensor captor, all engine joints … water pump, chain… it’s a good car if you are ready to give your engine a good refresh
@92kretmg Жыл бұрын
you lie. In these cars, there is indeed a problem under the hood, but the only problem is the engine cooling system. Cracking coolant tanks, cracking hoses, connectors, fan. The thermostat breaks down in every car because the timing belt is on a chain, the water pump is often 20 years old. Other than that, there's nothing more wrong with it than with other cars.

Hi Joe well done nice smooth drive, a couple of the higher up reps where I worked had these, not fast they weren't meant to be, from what I could make out, but were comfortable cruisers, they were both auto's I think. If you were lower down the rep hierarchy you got a golf or a ford of some description, But if they got the chance for any reason they would use one of the beemers if they could. A very nice motor to cover miles in back then. PS any chance you could lay your hands on a Opel/Vauxhall Carlton, 3 ltr GSI I think it was, went like muck off a shovel, got pulled for speeding on a motorway by the local police who were also driving one, we had a good laugh as he handed me a fine, he said it was his superior driving skills that let him get us as he had so much gear in his car we could have out accelerated them, I wasn't out for a chase I was just cruising at a reasonable amount above the speed limit and didn't see them, as soon as I saw the blue lights I pulled over. Thanks for the memory Joe Happy Days.

@worldhello12342 жыл бұрын
The fuel consumption is decent for a sporty car. How about a Fiat 500 twinair Turbo if that is your main concern? You don't buy a BMW E46 for 20 cupholders, either.

Get 3.18IS or 320 above my friend. I had E34 520I M50B20 and i can easilly tell you 316i is nowhere near sporty. It's just a regular 1.6 nothing more. But if you are concerned about fuel comsumption you should get something with 1.3 diesel engine. Old BMW's are not reliable and economic. They are fun as hell and special cars but not reliable and economic at all.
@zsoltpapp33632 жыл бұрын
Why would anyone buy an e46 for city driving, especially a diesel? It doesnt even warm up in the first 20 kms. You will constantly repair the suspension no matter which engine you go for. I like the looks of the e46 but would not buy it for daily use, its simply too old and not particularly easy to maintain.

Too slow cruising highway with this is painful as it takes 1hour to reach 130kph in my opinion if you are on low budget better take a cheaper brand that offer 130-150hp and more equipements for the same price
@Mycarisslow2 жыл бұрын
Honestly i don't think Joe was pushing it !! Yeah it's slow only 105hp but still she will go 180 maybe even 190-200km/h More then good for daily use if you not into fast cars, but yet you stil have comfort, nice size trunk and style !

Never really liked the idea of the 316 and even the 318... I'm sure it drives like a BMW is supposed to be like but the lack of power? The smoothness? Hell I'd rather have a omega B or a passat 4motion..

@@endlessroadie3131 So you'd rather have a different under-powered car that has other issues too, like low quality suspension, rust issues etc.. not just lack of power? :) Can't really agree with that logic. Owned a E36 325TD some 20 years ago, and while it would be nice if it had more then 115hp that it had, it was a much nicer driving experience then the Audi 80 2.8 Quattro that I replaced it with, which was MUCH faster - but absolutely everything else was a downgrade (unless you're driving on snow).
