1999 Civic Flashing D4-Gear Slamming-Sluggish-Must shift Manually?

It was a damaged connector at the trans position sensor

Did you already replace the Vehicle Speed Sensor that connects to the trans?? I’m assuming that’s my problem finna fix it next week when part comes, it will cause the car to shift super hard to feel sluggish to shift as well as the blinking d4 and the Speedo not being accurate or sometimes just won’t work CEL too

Would loose, broken or worn plug wires cause this issue? I just changed my distributor and used the old plug wires and randomly had the blinking d4 while driving also hard jerk when shifting to reverse or d4. I just unplugged and replugged the wires at the distributor and the issue went away 😮

@@Dustyfingers That an odd effect. I mean if its a loose or broken plug wires are present. The spark could be going to the sparkplug hole and cause the whole motor to have a misfire id assume.

Did u try what I did? Id suggest also to drain and fill trans fluid.

Hey I'm having close to the same problem, mine revs high before shifting, I have to let off the gas to let it shift. Most times it won't shift from 3rd to 4th no mater what I do. Then the D4 blinks untill I turn off the car. The fluids are good. Also it feels like it's slipping. It all started out of nowhere, no warning or indication that something is wrong. Any ideas? Also thanks for posting this. I'll definitely keep coming back for more advice. Cheers my dude.

Id always recommend changing fluid too.. at times the solenoid gets so clogged.
