I also have a 99' GL1500 SE 50th Anniversary Edition and when I bought it back in 2018 it looked immaculate just the same as yours - and yes with only 18,000 miles on it. These bikes were built to last and stand the test of time. Well engineered to be very, very low maintenance and RELIABLE... CONGRATULATIONS MAN!!!

Thank you sir. We are enjoying it for sure.

@@heritagegaitfarms2515The 1st Gold Wing was in 1975 so this isn't the 50th Anniversary, yours is only 24 years old if it's a 1999!!

@seatime674 that is what all the badges say is all I know. My uncle bought it new. This is my first Gold Wing.

@@heritagegaitfarms2515 Yes that's an absolutely beautiful barn find story and a gem of a bike, I just wanted to let you know the facts on it.. The 2005 is the 30th year anniversary and next year in '2025 will be the 50 Anniversary Goldwing🥂👍

I always find it interesting that most critics are as clueless as they come even though in their own minds they are the experts on any given subject. I’ve learned early in life that ignoring them is the best approach 😂
@heritagegaitfarms25158 ай бұрын
I listed to all the comments about it and made my own call. We just approached it the same as we have done with old cars that have been setting for years.

The low mileage/long storage fear is about the various seals,boots etc. having dried out and stiffened,cracked,split and giving out, not that it wouldn't run.... That remains to be seen,as it will need to be run in with some miles to expose any such issues. Great looking bike and well worth owning, but not unreasonable to expect some future issues with various rubber bits giving way......
@heritagegaitfarms25157 ай бұрын
Yes sir all would apply in most cases for sure. But this one belonged to my uncle. It was in a climate controlled garage. Even though it was not taken off the stand since 2001 he started it and put a new battery on it every year. I guess I got lucky with it. We have put over 2000mi on it already. Not one issue with anything. Everything works like it was new. Not one leak. I guess the storage is what saved it. Thank you for watching.

Great find. Im doing the same on a 1999 1500 in Green with 22k miles. I hope the wife and I can get some great trips in on these older but great machines. For peace of mind I replaced my original timing belts.

Good find. Idle should be around 850 RPM if memory serves. That's probably why it stalled at the gas station. And that's the same name I gave my 2000se just like it. It's beautiful 😍

1st Honda MC was built in 1949. So 50th anniversary must refer to the 50th year for Honda motorcycles.

For some reason everyone was afraid of mine because of the low mileage. I did not understand that at all. We flushed and rebleed the brakes changed all fluids. Only thing I had to replace was the fuel pump and tires.

this whole video has a 2008 era youtube feel to it. wish the video would have followed along with the teardown and repair, not just the owner talking about it.

Thank you for your input. The original plan was to do just that. I had just got the bike and took it straight to my friends house to do the work. I was going on vacation the next day. He could not wait and started the repairs. I’m new to this stuff so hopefully I will get better at it.

I was very lucky and blessed that the bike had been in the garage its entire life. So the only time the sun was on it was during the 18000mi they rode it. I just had to wipe it off. I polished it and used armor all wipes on the black.

Don't listen to most people. At 18000 miles, the seals haven't even set properly. That bike will outlive you. My goldwing is a 1988 gl1500. It has 54000 on it. Still running strong.
