The first game for a broadcast pair that UM fans would get to know very well over the next handful of years- Brent Musburger and Gary Danielson.

Got to give Barry Alvarez a lot of credit though for helping bring Wisconsin athletics back from the dead. in both Football and Basketball.

Awesome that this tape has pregame. The Detroit WXYZ station joined Michigan's first drive in progress.

Ron Dayne never ran for 100 yards against the Wolverines, NEVER! Barry Alverez's record against Michigan, 3-7....Badgers overall record against Michigan, 49-14-1 with a 773% against the Badgers.

With all of that wear-and-tear from College, I'm pretty sure that's why Ron Dayne was a "bust" in the NFL. The massive amount of carries Wisconsin gave him in 4 years, was: 1,220 (not to mention Wisconsin played their games on old school Astroturf) -- in 7 seasons in the NFL, he only had 983 carries. At least he's a legend when it comes to College Football.

I agree wolverine historian , that heartbreaker loss to msu when tom Brady nearly pulled out the victory the team mentally lost focus when they got up on Illinois. 27-7 . That shouldn't of happened this team was too good to sit back they were a resilent, confident and mentally tough team . They should have played in the rose bowl however my grandparents won a orange bowl trip on WJR and travelled first class with the alumni and all expenses paid trip . We all remember that great orange bowl classic and I remember watching it . Now I have their photo album as a priceless memory of them and of that great Michigan team . Michigan needs to have seasons like this again consistently go blue

@123multitaskerclone Blowing that 20 point lead against Illinois killed us. We would have won the tie breaker against Wisconsin having beaten them head to head.

As great a talent as Henson was (and could have won the Heisman if he stayed his senior year), if Brady started and played all the minutes this team would have had 1 loss at worst. They were nearly as good as the 97 team. No Woodson of course, but the offense was way more dangerous. Llyod really messed this season up (among many).

Lame ass penalty on Terrell for taunting. Guys celebrate 3 times that much now after tackling a guy who just gained 40 yards!

Carr going with 2 qbs was a disaster as Brady proved over the next 22 years. Then Henson made a terrible mistake by taking Yankees money and flopping in baseball. He probably would have been the #1player drafted instead of going to the Cowboys later and flopping there too.

that penalty was kinda lame, and so was the announcer when he said "he totally deserves it"... sure, his excuse wasnt much better, but if THAT was excessive celebration, id hate to think what would happen to folks NOW if those ref's were doing games.....
