I wish I found this video before I did all the work to figure out mine haha In Alaska, just leaving it on heat because I couldnt really figure out a way to get rigidity but your creativity probably saved me. Thanks!

It’s not the perfect solution, but works in a pinch until a whole new cable can be installed.

Helpful video. My Pajero is having a similar problem. Going to check the blend door.

I was thinking a roll pin might do the trick! I'm going to check mine tomorrow see if I get lucky and it's just as simple as this. I'm crossing my fingers it won't be a heater core replacement.

Great video, I'm getting hot air from drivers side vent, cool air from all the others, so ill be digging into mine soon.

Have the exact same issue, but havent gotten into it yet. Did you have any luck?
@macdrew772 жыл бұрын
@@jeremiahkellam9458 used a vacuum kit to bleed the cooling system, then blasted the heat and revved up the engine while topping off the coolant to get any remaining air bubbles out. Heat works great now, but it won't switch to cool air LOL

I think I'm having the same issue. Now I know what to look for. Thanks!

Ya know when I saw the time lapse is when I 1st THOUGHT this guy is clever and a great instructor. Demonstrates in amazingly detail the spots to inspect mark for dissasembly, possible hang-ups. Sharing his thought process/reasoning is HIGH VALUE, shared from his experience & busted knuckles, everything. Thought all that, much love. THEN I read the disclaimer- Dude, WTF. 👏💪👏 5 stars. This guy just go'head & just slip into IMPERVIOUS mode WHILE instructing a brand new technique! For the Internet at large?!? Hmmmm 🤔😏🤯... (I'm not authorized to call him a saint😇) I am very sure, and got the creds to declare- the dude is a guru. Enlightened master. BadMuthaForever, whatever your term is, & ect. Thanks for demonstrating "knowing the way broadly, and to see it in all things". That vid-jee-yo wuz the BOMB, SUN!!! (Helped a bunch- found more heater bolts. still working on how to remove the heater core w/o taking off the entire top dash.

@inzmountains how do you like this montero. I’ve been thinking about getting one. I just don’t know how well I’d like it for long drives. Since you have so much low end torque. Can you travel 85mph comfortably with it?

I'm actually about to tackle something similar. the heat control won't go past a certain point and I'm certain the either the blend door actuator is sticking/stuck or the cable is damaged. I wonder how hard it is to route the cable to the correct snap locations without taking apart the dash.
@inzmountains80672 жыл бұрын
There’s not a lot of room to reroute cables as they are all a very specific length with specific mount locations. To do much reworking, it is likely more of the dash will have to be taken apart.

Is the vents on your hood custom, or are they available for sale?
@inzmountains80673 жыл бұрын
It is actually a louvered hood attachment for a jeep wrangler. It just happens to fit this hood pretty well. You’ve got to get creative cutting holes in your hood to let the air flow through, but it’s fairly functional.

Of course it looks good. Just kinda slip, tripped and just FELL inot fitting real well. So easy, an 8 year old coulda done it 😉! Haa! Looks slick Brian, now I know how to modify mine, great video man.

Brian, I have the same issue that I want to fix before summer is out. I looked up the the part number for the temp cable. It's MB813353. it's pretty cheap if it's actually available in the States. I just ordered one, so we'll see. How difficult do you think it'll be to replace the whole cable? It's hard to see how it's attached to the blend door side. If it's difficult I bought a roll pin assortment from HF so i can fix your way. Thanks for the video! It gave me confidence to finally get around to fixing this.

Hi Mike, I’m glad the video was some help. I do believe you’ll have to take a bit more of the dash apart to replace the entire cable because it is fairly hard to reach at the blend door as opposed to the temporary repair I did at the control knob. I suppose with some long reach, needle nose pliers or something like that it may be easier, but still a fairly tight area to work in. Good luck on your fix. Love the rig by the way.

Need a split roller pin that you could open up and re-crimp or a Dremel to cut that groove might be a little easier
@inzmountains80672 жыл бұрын
That would have been easier… Just using what I had on hand at the time. Nearest auto parts store or hardware store is 45 minutes away.
