Still able to register a car to race back then. It was not as closed as today. Today you have to be in the "click" to be in the NHRA pros. No more fun in my book. Today's NHRA racing is like fishing in a barrel. From 1988 to 2001 where the best for the fans. Fast cars and real racers from around the country back then.

the day the drivers were put back to shifting the cars manually in Pro Stock, truthfully, that was an excellent rule change for those drivers seeing as it puts the human element back into the category, as opposed to pushing the buttons on the air shifters
