The Buckeyes lock horns with the Texas A&M Aggies, who had then just punked the no. 2 Kansas State Wildcats in the Big 12 title game. The Buckeyes looked to run up the score early on Dat Nguyen's Wrecking Crew defense, but the Aggies held firm through the second half. The Buckeyes didn't score, but didn't suffer for it in this rather bland 24-14 victory.

We were so stacked that year, but Cooper couldn't come through. We couldn't stop Burress, and we blew so many opportunities to put them away. I will never forget that game. Someone sitting above me was yelling, "We have to beat the spread!" I was yelling, "We have to win the game!" What a debacle that game was.

That A&M punter is Shane Lechler. He is a current multi-time pro-bowler with the oakland raiders and is still the top punter in the NFL. I watched him set an Alamo Bowl record with a 67 yard punt. That guy is amazing.

OSU's overall record against teams from the south isn't that bad. Its in the bowl games they have trouble in. Maybe the southern teams should go play up North for a bit.

Everyone knows ohio state was the best team in the nation that year. They would've pounded Tennessee into the ground. Two titles taken away by two bad second half in 1996 and 1998. They had the same record as FSU in this year and were far and away better, they definitely should've been against Tennessee

Since A&M was in the Big 12 at the time, this game does not count towards OSU's bowl record against the SEC. Their win over UArk last year is tainted, but I still count it as a win in my book.

I am a Buckeye fan, but for the most part I have become very unbiased because I love college football as a whole. I really thought Florida State was going to get to the title game until they dropped the ball against NC State. Florida State was a great team in the 90's and so was Ohio State. Cooper just could not get the job done. Tressell ran into 3 very good teams Florida, LSU, and USC! Funny how fast the media turns on a certain team.

Score would have looked more impressive if not for the first A&M drive that sort of caught the Bucks off guard. Bucks were down to about the 14-yard line when the game ended, too, as I recall. Tack on that TD, plus a score when they missed the fourth down plus the missed FGs and the game could easily have been about 44-7.

I don't care what anyone says, they lost to a .500 team in Michigan State and they would have lost to a 12-0 team in the Fiesta Bowl. Do you remember the previous Sugar Bowl where Florida State trounced them. Ohio State will be back in 2013 with Suburban Oscar Meyer as coach in full effect.

That home field advantage nonsense... LOL. It's one thing if the ticket sales vastly differ, but Ohio State travels well. And you have a week to practice and acclimate. It's kind of hard to visit when Ohio State schedules at most 2 southern teams per year (half of which are creampuffs). FSU went up in 1981 and 1982 and embarrassed your sorry asses twice. That 1981 FSU team went 6-5, BTW. You can't compete. We invited you to Doak in 2012, but you didn't accept.

Woulda, coulda, shoulda.....Tennessee went 13-0 that year beating Florida, Georgia, Bama, Auburn, Arkansas and a 11-1 Florida State team that lost its game on the road. Ohio State lost at home to Michigan State. The SEC has gone on to win 7 of the 13 BCS NCs. Should be 8 of 13 as Auburn was 12-0 in 2004 and got robbed by USC. The big ten has 1. Sorry your conference sucks so much, and will for years to come.

When you're using ineligible players, it's considered cheating, and that's when you vacate wins. The tattoo incident wasn't cheating, but the tattooed player(s) playing on the field did.
