glad I watched this..my buddy had them on his F250 but sold it, so I couldn't use his as a reference to do mine. They incorrectly installed the arms with the motors at the front, which is right where the tires throw all the crap. I thought that was a bad engineering idea LOL...now I know it was just bad installation!!

For 2007 you dont have to take off door panel it actually doesnt work that way its the yellow and black wire just above your emergency brake release theres 2 (yellow and black wire) but only one is for door ajar switch. This is for all the 2007 6.0 bros all other steps exactly as he has shown in this video

It's dope how the steps on this Ford isn't visible when it's closed ..on my Chevy it sits in a visible area and I don't like it cuz it almost looks like it's always open and has a big gap between the steps and the body..I don't know if I can just re adjust the board or or if it's because of the motors underneath

Popping in to smack the thumbs up as always but this time I actually have a question My Passenger side step is freaking out just randomly goes up and down even if I’m in the house with the keys out of the truck any ideas maybe where I should start

That might could be a bad computer module that hooks to the battery from the amp steps possibly? Amp has awesome customer service I would try giving them a call! Could also possibly be hooked to the wrong trigger wire ? Not sure… maybe bad connection somewhere … but could maybe be back brain box .. call them and explain what’s going on and I’d say they can help diagnose!

Yes door ajar or trigger wire. Passenger side is taken care of in the harness. Hope you got yours done. Did mine a few weeks ago and love them. Well worth the money.

What brand of traction bars do you have on your truck bro?? I have a 2004 f250 6.0 do you recommend any good ones?
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH Жыл бұрын
Go with PMF suspension traction bars they’re worth the money and will make truck ride and handle amazing. These were home made I built them.
@ericpettyfishing4 жыл бұрын
My question is, let's say you're offroad and open your door when there is something a little tall under your truck, will the steps force themselves down and destroy themselves? Or do they have a saftey like a garage door, that wont let them force shut and break something.
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH4 жыл бұрын
If it senses any pressure they come back up I’m pretty sure. I know if you shut the door and they have any pressure on them they will stay down until you redo the cycle open / close the door

@JUSTINHAWKSMITH4 жыл бұрын
Man I am honestly not sure. I would definitley contact amp research and get a exact part number for which steps you need, their customer service is 10/10.
@codyapplegarth4 жыл бұрын
Professional installers do not use quick connect or crimps. Everything is soldered together the professional way, shrink wrapped and taped the factory way, to make all aftermarket disappear so the factory techs can't be ready to cancel warranty. Just saying.
@ericpettyfishing4 жыл бұрын
Too bad there are no trucks that have these factory man. A dealer will know if your stuff is aftermarket by looking at it. The rule is, dont mod any vehicle you dont own, unless the work is easily reversed
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH4 жыл бұрын
Yeah Definitley wouldn’t be a bad idea to solder and heat shrink all the connections! Adds to expense really. Can get solder, heat shrink, and a cheap soldering gun to do the trick for around 30-40 bucks. Still a savings of over 250+ dollars to do it even better. But surprisingly these crimp connects that are supplied are all heat shrink/soldering crimp connects. Forgot to mention that. And also the local line x told me everything I needed to install was in the kit. My honest opinion is they would’ve opened the kit and installed just as I did if I had to guess.
@StephenBrewer894 жыл бұрын
Look into the butt splices with solder integrates inside the heat shrink. I have fell in love with them. Just slide one on, get your wires twisted together and heat everything up.
@Rand0m4 жыл бұрын
did you get the additional 2 inch drop?
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH4 жыл бұрын
No sir. They make the running boards sit a little lower with the drop so I opted to not get it. To keep the steps hidden.

I am up to 10:10 and you again point to the motors being in the rear. Which is contrary to the instructions and farthest from the wiring. Why did you do this?
@JUSTINHAWKSMITH2 жыл бұрын
To be honest no clue I didn’t do it wrongly on purpose if I did. It’s been so long I can’t remember. But they’re still holding up great to this day motors in rear , seemed to make more sense to me so they weren’t the first thing to get mud and road grime thrown on them. So honestly didn’t even read the instructions for that part. Just made sense
@surveyguyor89582 жыл бұрын
@@JUSTINHAWKSMITH Thanks! ya know, if it makes sense, go for it. If the wires are long enough and everything, i see no reason not to. You would have had extra wires to try to tie-up. i had trouble with the straw through the door. on mine there was a plastic cover over the wire loom on the inside, but finally it poked around it (had to help fish it with my finger from the inside) maybe they should give a smaller tube for easier use in shoving that straw through. I had to solder-on additional wire (supplied) to reach across to the left side of the truck, but still the wire was too short to reach the door ajar in the door.
