1999: Washington Redskins vs New York Giants Remastered NFL Highlights

The 1999 Redskins featured a high-scoring, entertaining offense and they put it all out there in this 50-21 pasting of the New York Giants at the Meadowlands. The offense was so dialed in, even Michael “Drop-It-Like-Its-Hot!” Westbrook caught some passes.
This would be the final Redskins-Giants game played on that infamous Meadowlands astroturf (replaced by grass - finally! - the following season) and was the last Redskins-Giants game in the Big Apple featuring our old friends Pat Summerall and John Madden (who pulled no punches in their take down of Big Blue’s defense that was almost as brutal as the Redskins offensive onslaught). Stephen Davis scored three first quarter touchdowns and this game was over before it started. The victory launched the ’99 Redskins towards a rare and well-deserved NFC East division title and their first playoff appearance in seven seasons.

Watching this brought back somany memories. We were really on the cusp of something really great in '99. An unstoppable offense, a talented defense. Leaders all over the roster. Somehow, Dan Snyder walked in the building that same year and ruined it, and this is AFTER we acquired Chris Samuels and Lavar Arrington in the 2000 draft. Imagine how terrible an owner you have to be to absolutely destroy so much promise.

This was a team that was built before Snyder we were getting close to becoming a perennial playoff team but the curse was set upon us as we remember how we lost in the playoffs...Damm Daniel Snyder 😢 F him the curse shall be lifted

I honestly can say I really thought this group of Redskins, the team the talent the coaching staff was actually gonna win maybe two Super Bowls but Mr. Dan Snyder took care of that for all of the Redskin faithful Disney I’m so glad that guy is gone, but this addition of the Redskins, I thoughtwas pretty damn good!

I remember at the time, Papa John’s or Dominos had a season special where every TD = a free topping and double the toppings if the Skins won. This game, along with the previous game against Dallas and the following game against the Jets, had the pizza chain revamp their promotion

It was Dominos and the promotion that season was $1 off for each Redskins touchdown. After this game, Sonny J. said listeners could call "for a large pizza with everything on it, and two dollars!"

Wow, imagine watching this game and being told by a time traveller that one of these two teams would be in the Super Bowl the next season. You certainly wouldn't guess that it would be the Giants in SB XXXV against the Ravens. Man, I hate the last 30 years of Redskins football.

Washington's new ownership needs to repair the relationships with all the former players who got shafted by Snyder. Starting with Brad Johnson. Also we need to get LaVar Arrington back on our side. HE HATED SNYDER. Lets get Stephen Davis & Champ Bailey in good graces too.

I will never forget that game. Tim Biakabatuka had something like 150 yards rushing on 10 carries and for some reason the Panthers never gave him the ball again.
