Ford Escort RS 1600 Mk1 Group 2 at San Marino RallyLegend!

Here's a video about two Ford Escort RS1600 Mk1 rally cars I recorded during various editions of the famous San Marino RallyLegend. Most of the scenes are about the one driven by the Italian Davide Cesarini from the 2013 till the 2018 edition while in 2016 there was also Mark Falvey in an ex-Hannu Mikkola Mk1.

Great looking Escort ..White is the colour that really suits it..I did have a Mk 1 Escort Mexico that i was improving as i went along..I paid £250 for it in 1983 and it was sound..Spent £350 rebuilding the engine then some persons stole it due to one night i could not park it in my drive way because my entrance was blocked.. I had great plans for that car..Nice to see this one on the edge of it`s performance.

NOTHING screams rallying to me more than a fully sorted escort twin cam with four DCOE barrels wide open and full chat on the red line, save perhaps for a full on sorted 1340 Cooper S with a Jack Knight straight cut box screaming into and out of a 90 left at a speed the Police at any other time would take an extremely dim view of trying to go round it at.........usually in the wee hours of a Sunday morning on back roads in the middle of Welsh Wales too....ahhh the days of my wild youth in the early to mid 70's if ONLY I could go back there, happy days.
