Just drove the new 2018 RS3 with the new version of the incredible 5 cylinder engine that was originally developed for rally that made it into the now famous Quattro rally king. 400hp un tuned, it was orgasmic. Trying to own this car before i die.

The Audi Quattro S1 and S1 E2 has it's own distinct sound both with exhaust and it's turbo blow off relief , in my personal opinion it is the best sounding rally car ever built . I just love the sound of it . Truly awesome and unique . I'd love to be able to afford to purchase one or even 2 and have them to drive here in Australia.

@Riccardo There used to be a bunch of inline 5s made by VW, and volvo. Currently VW switched to turbo 4s. Audi TTrs is 5 cylinder but turbo. So probably none, but if you see someone driving a vw golf, passat, or beetle of model years '12 to '14 and 2.5 displacement, they're rocking that engine. Now it's a rarity and probably obsolete. Probably will happen to natural 4s too. It's good because turbo 4s keep being gas friendly while turning cars as fast as a basic natural 5 or even faster. But I love that na 5 sounds fantastic and performs smoothly, while being smaller than a v6.

Hi Bozzy. First off, great thumbnail!👌 Keep the rally and hillclimb videos coming as long as you like, buddy.😆 These Audis are absolute, holy terrors... just what I like in a car. I love the unmistakable music that bellows out from those 5 cylinder engines. I know it's for "safety", but the modern factory Audis often get criticized for terrible amounts of understeer. Perhaps they should return to their roots.😜 These crazy, short-wheelbase cars have no trouble wagging the tail like a happy dog. That curve at 0:28 is a perfect example.😲 That is just tremendous! I used to love this car more than any other rally car. But I’m happy to admit that the current generation of WRC car (2018) is my favourite. Faster. More agile. Better handling... the only thing that’s missing is the fire breathing, crackling engine. But that’s only a small ECU mod to rectify ;)
