This is the reason I bought myself an induction heater for Christmas. So sick of snapping off broken bolts.

Your right it's way easier and less headaches to just replace it all .

What type Cobalt drill bits are you using?

Term bottom of the ocean is perfect. Funny I use this same term when I’m explaining to people what’s most important when looking at used cars. Most important look underneath and if it looks like it came from the bottom of the ocean then move on to another car. I’m in Arizona and most cars are very nice metal condition wise underneath. Paint however will take a beating from the sun here. 1A vids have been extremely helpful over the years to help my car work. Thanks. Plus I’ve purchased parts from your company and experience is top notch.

Simply weld a nut on the other side of the bolt.. no need to drill.

Hey. Next time hit that with some PB’s Blaster and a few whacks with a hammer, the let it sit a while, then apply heat with a torch. OR you can keep snapping bolts.

Yeah! go for the Kit.

You don't need a drill press & jig to center the hole to drill out the bolt. All you need is a hinge drill bit. Harbor Freight and Amazon has them for under $10.

I wish A1 Auto would include the bolts. Some of those bolts for LCA can't be found at the home centers like Menards & Home Depot

What happens when you uses a hot wrench or heat on the bolt, I work in the heart of the rust belt/Canada, and this tool is a must in any shop….flat rate kills when you start breaking bolts and your original estimate of $200 repair sky rockets to $1000 due to additional parts from you as a mechanic just was to lazy to put heat on the bolt/nut

You have some amazing videos. I wish someone would put the same time into your website. It so hard to find what I'm looking for. It takes way longer than it should. Please make some updates and make it user friendly

Minus well should change the hole lower control arm. ;bushing are probably toasted and that backing plates is all rusted also.

Even heat and tapping won't break the rusted bolt free?

Could you not have twisted it the way it went in just out the other side with a broken bolt extractor and some heat?
@eliezerramosjr10179 күн бұрын
I wish that’s something we can do but most of the time things like this I would heat it up first before any impact.

I’d thread a nut on the threads that are exposed. Weld it on. Oxy acetalene torch it and spin it out from the front

Replace your pinch bolt every few years. Buy OEM parts if you want a lasting solution.

Soak down anything you don't want to rust with Fluid Film.

I guess if you are working on your own car you have the option. I have removed many broken bolts to save the money. Sometimes it gets expensive trying to remove the part to replace it over one broken bolt. Especially on old rusty cars. Hey Dr., do I need a knee replacement or just a shot? You need a knee replacement Son.

I'm hoping you have the lift raised as high as it is for clarification purposes,Or at least I hopes so. Looks like you're struggling to reach the components. Eye level would so much more user friendly.

thats a terrible design. that said, soaking it in penetrating oil for a day and some heat would have probably saved it. yes, obviously replacing things with new parts is generally easier than fixing the old parts...
