Great video. I spent more time finding the right sized zip ties than I did swapping the tie rod out!

In the perspective of a DIYer I love this video because: 1) It has great camera work and quality and zooming when it's needed, I dont have to guess what the person is doing 2) Great mic quality, no obstructive sounds and I can hear everything you're saying 3) Articulate, I dont have to skip through segments to get to 'the bit' 4) Small tips that will prevent hassle with the job (like tightening the castle nut to align with the hole, great tip i havent seen in a tie rod video yet) One thing I must ask though, for people who cannot get a hammer in there what other way is there to crimp the claw washer over the rod? Thank you for your work.

Is it ok to use zip ties on the end of the tie rod boot? I’m afraid it’ll one day crack and come loose. I purchased the toyota power steering rack boot clamp but it’s so difficult to clip the hook into the hole…

If you have the outer tie rod off should the inner tie rod be easy to move up and down on a 09 gmc Acadia ? Wondering if I need to replace

I have a GX470 and it should be the same i believe.. but i was wondering does the steering rack portion where the inner tie rod connects to have 2 cuts to fit a large wrench? that way you can apple opposite pressure when breaking the inner tie rod free?

Do you grease before or after mounting the tire?
@olenaerhardt77254 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the detailed film. No one else shows to apply Cooper Antiseaze under the Outer TR Nut. Also very useful to learn to apply some grease on the Inner TR where it contacts the Cover Boot. I will also apply some (and that grease and Cooper Antiseaze), very good idea. If to wash that Cover Boot and then apply some 303 Aerospace Protectant (Amazon), the boot will be like new, it also protects the Boot. Metal CV Boot Clamps can be found on Amazon. Thank you again.

Nice video! Why doesn't anyone address the use of a second wrench to hold the rack in place and counter the torque of the removal? They put that wrench shoulder on the rack for a reason. I have heard you can damage the internals of the rack not doing that. Thoughts on that?

Why all The rotors on every single videos are suddenly replaced with brand new ones even the topics is not about the rotors or front drive axles?
@nicosilva47504 жыл бұрын
I see a lot of these videos where no one is securing the steering rack. Isn't this putting too much pressure on the rack?
@CP1103 жыл бұрын
The rack is bolted into the subframe, it also deals with a lot of force daily. There is no need to try and provide extra support for the rack. Also there really isn't a way to do that.
