Thanks for this high quality video, saved us hours fixing up our mini! A few comments based on our experience on a R56: To remove the glass - Remove the round surround from the internal door release handle as the video shows. Remember to pull out the locating pin first. - Unclip the main trim panel by prising it away all around the edges. It’s a a big U shape. No need to unclip the armrest cover. - Remove the two rubber covers to access the two bolts securing the glass clamps (it’s necessary to lower the window to the correct position as the video shows) As other having commented, getting the two glass securing bolts out is a major challenge, since they need to be pulled at the same time they are unscrewed. They have a short threaded section which engages with each side of the clamp as you unscrew them, so once the bolt has been unthreaded from the outer clamp, it floats around. Other have suggested looping string around the bolt head to pull on them. Once the bolts are out the glass can be lifted out. It won’t drop out since the clamps have ledges at the bottom. It should also be possible to remove the glass without needing to raise the window, removing the outer trim may help with this it it’s a tight fit. The bolts can be left partially threaded so you're ready for the glass to go back in. To remove the whole inner door panel (if for example you need to get to the lock mechanism), the glass needs to come out first. After disconnecting the wiring, the whole door panel can be extracted by removing just the 11 torx bolts around the plastic panel, the 5 on the aluminium strip and bracket, and the small nut and bracket on the stud. One of the bolts is under the rubber trim, which needs to be unclipped. There’s no need to remove the mirror switch and the surround over the smaller speaker, or the large speaker unless any of these have particular issues. These are bolted to the to the door inner plastic panel (door card?). not the door itself. You will need to unclip the armrest to access one of the 11 perimeter bolts. Finally unclip the door lock release cable from inner handle as shown in the video, then the whole panel can be removed.

For anyone who’s having trouble with the bolts that hold the window in place, they are tricky, and require a specific method of removed which is not mentioned in the video. They sit on a track of threads that requires them to be unscrewed ‘twice’. Unscrewing the bolt from the first track is very simple. But once you’re on the second track you have to pull the bolt towards you and unscrew in order to remove it, or at least unscrew it enough to release the window. Specifically you have to pull the bolt towards you until it threads and can be unscrewed a second time. I used a shoe lace lassoed around the head of the bolt to pull it towards me while I unscrewed it with a ratchet. I’m sure there’s a better way but that worked for me given the tools that I had. Additionally when you’re putting the window back in, ensure it is positioned properly. If not it will fail to roll up all the way, or worse, result in your window tinting getting ripped off by the door.

A very good procedure except: 1. the screws holding the window are T40, not T30 2. When the window wouldn't come out, you missed that important step as outlined by some posters already: you have to pull the screw out as far as possible until it engages in the oute part of the fitting and then unscrew it a coupke of extra turns. I used a magnet to do this

According to the Haynes manual, one should NOT attempt to remove the release handle trim like it's done 1 min of the video. Prise out the pin at the base of the trim, but wait until the complete door panel is off to remove the trim, if needed. Then you will have easy access to the trims fastening clips on the back side of the door panel.

If your door glass doesn't came out like shown in the video, you have to pull and unscrew at the same time the two bolts that hold the window until they almost came out...and miracle! You put your door glass out easyly.

The torque screws that hold the glass has 2 treads. In order to remove the glass you have to take them off completely. I am wondering why you skipped that step.

+lexerkok40 The torx bolts only need to be loosened slightly to allow the glass to come out. This makes removal and installation easier because the bolts don't fall inside the door panel.

@@1AAuto I would like to add something to this. I did this today and once you know that the bolts have two threads with some space in between you can get the glass out easily. However, if you loosen the bolts only 1 stage, you will not be able to get the window out. That's what we saw in the video at 5:34...(with the "oops"-comment) You have to pull the bolthead with an interior panel tool towards yourself and then turn the T30 counterclockwise again to let the second thread on the bolt start working. After a couple of rounds the window comes loose and the bolt stays in. Good luck!
